Both are valiantly trying to abuse the broken combo system a bit harder than the other at the start Wumbo fails and nearly dies but saves it.

He's hoping his opponent drops first, so he can get more garbage to continue the combo. The opponent stalled in turn, to avoid that.

Basically they stall because they want to end their combo after the opponent ends theirs. So they stall the pieces to try to make it so this happens

@@perkuu6937 basically so that they can get the final few line clears in, this would result in a huge spike you take some garbage sometimes, but in result having a huge counter spike its good in some cases in most cases its not the best though

I believe by stalling you can let more garbage accumulate, which can potentially continue your combo even after the 4 wide is over.

Since they both had 4 wides going whoever ended their combo first, had the potential of helping their opponent continuing their combo chain higher with the garbage blocks they would've sent.

They stall for more damage to the opponent which is caused by stalling for this long and changes the battle a lot more for the person who makes a mistake on their 4 wide.

Because sending earlier has disadvantage. These two were 4-Widing, which is combo build. (Stack 6wide and leave 4wide, and make combo from that 4wide) The thing is, If you TAKE GARBAGE LINES(gray lines)DURING 4WIDE. It might help you extend combo by using garbage lines. And both of two wants to have garbage lines. How to have garbage lines? You wait until your opponent attack, and take it. For example, if you have 10 imcoming garbage lines and if you do attack for 5 garbage lines, 5 is cancelled and you take 5 garbages. And it only works if opponent attacks first You may say "But isnt it boring? i would just take disadvantage" Disadvantage might be a game. Combo is just too broken in this game. It sends 5 garbage lines per 1 combo at high combo.

Planning their next move based on what the other person does. If they leave themselves exposed for a counter then they could in for a huge pile. Wumbo can see the other player has at least a handful of 4 wide moves incoming while Wumbo's own field is already almost out of 4 wide moves.

If you get hit and dont attack the the same number of lines you take the rest over damage. So that means you have more lines to clear in a 4-wide so getting hit is like a extension to your combo

I mean tetris got nerfed a bit, its a lot slower now but pro players already move at high speeds when playing tetris so that doesn’t really change anything
