I had the pleasure of visiting with keepers Bill and Marty in 1984. I was working with the Saltiest Creyfish Skipper Stew Ellis. The weather kept us in the fiord for several days, being bored we decided to surprise the keepers and hiked up the track with as many DBs as we could muster. We knocked on the door. We offered the DBs and they allowed us to stay the night. They had improvised a bong out of a dish soap bottle and a haze of, you know, was in the air. A few days later I was able to fly out of Puysugar in Bill Black's squirrel. Bill the keeper returned to Riverton via The Sea Raider with Ellis. I'm certain that I'm the only Yank that ever did this. Southland is forever etched in my soul, when it's raining here my heart shifts to that time in Southland. I've had many opportunities to return, but don't want to spoil the way it was then.

most interesting, thanks for sharing. I have only made it as far as Owen West "westies" hut, but would love to get to the point one day..
