Hello, Came here as someone send me the this link.. I have quite few disagreements or different opinions than how you saw it, but I liked the clarity of your thought and the way you express it. few points, if I may - forgive me for any spoilers first n foremost, its actually about caste atrocities and we dont need 45 mints to understand its talking boldly about how the most elite Keralan castes see the rest, plus it also tell us the relation between Mammookka n Parvathy n what the issue is.. It is for sure, the first 'Main stream' Malayalam cinema to put caste issue as one of the major issues in the movie (yes, Malayalam is so far behind Tamil in this respect. I am glad we r slowly doing that now) then it also tells about how our system which is majoritively oppressor caste centric treats other religious minorities, though this aspect comes out only in the final 15 minutes or so.. That was quite surprising for me too and am glad they did so. Both the above points actually quite explains the character of Mamootty. There is a lot of negativity in the way the elites look at our oppressed even if most pretend otherwise.. here Mammookkas Kuttan is not very pretentious that he is liberal, so for me at least he is the way he is because of his background and upbringing Then according to many, its about toxic parenting, but I am not sure, because this is exactly how the elites used to bring up their children in the past (i see many even in the present) and it is not at all because they dont love the kids.. there are more than couple of scenes where it is clear Mammootty do love the boy, but he just dont express it the way the child wants and he is terribly protective of the boy as a single parent, with all his insecurities.. I understand why many think the film dragged etc, but for me it has the exact right pacing for this kind of a story.. May be it should have taken extra 3-5 minutes towards the climax to avoid that current feeling of hurried finishing. I dont see anything wrong with how it ended. But may I give you an anecdote. Mammootty does that sudden violence on his brother in law (he never can accept a dalit for that , sure) when Kuttappan says he wants to name their girl Nangeli.. This is soo soo important.. Nangeli was a dalit girl from the Cherthala area, about 30 Kms south of Kochi. Oppressed women were not allowed to cover their breasts and the King imposed a breast tax (Mulakkaram) on anyone who dared to cover their torso. So when they asked her for this tax, she cut off her breasts.... Nangeli is an iconic personality now for Keralas oppressed castes and feminine movements. I hope you will rewatch this movie, and you might be able to see more of other aspects.. Its quite political actually. sorry about the long message

I like how you tried to pronounce puzhu... 'zhu' is an alphabet that is not there in Hindi varnamala. You can say 'zha' as a mixture of 'ya' and 'ha'. 😅
