Very nostalgic to me. I miss the days where I'd listen to MEJIBRAY all the time. Hope that the members are doing well these days

This is one of their best songs IMO. The vocalist's screams and shrieks are really something different and powerful. After listening to tons of their songs I kinda hate the fact that they didn't really utilize his insane vocal abilities. Imagine if, before they disbanded, they moved in a metalcore or even a death metal type direction and made songs like that instead of simple hard rock. They would have gotten a lot of new listeners.

He beats most black metal vocalists at their own game and still sings clean like a frigging beast xD Please have some more talent Tsuzuku >.< #jealousy

+sari laruli Because that's what the vocals (not the clean parts obviously) reminded me of mostly, only way more expressive than most black metal vocalists. Doesn't really hit me as being death metal, Core vocals, or anything else so.. that's what i described it as xD

+PipeSmokingBearGuzzlingBassist (being a bass player i don't really give a shit about what singers do as long as i can lay fundamental and rhythm to them and it sounds good... Hence my lack of technical terms xD)

I don't get this visual-kei thing.. is that some kind of protest against sexist stereotypes in music/general or? I dig the music though.

No it's just the style, nothing to it besides that.

Rottingopossum there is more to it than just style. Visual Kei emerged as a protest against the strict Japanese rules (especially dress codes). You don't have many oportunities to be indivudualistic in Japanese society

mettalx1 it started out as a movement in the late twentieth century with bands like x japan, Luna sea, buck tick, kuroyume and glay. It's characterized by very flamboyant attire, heavy make-up, androgynous aesthetics (it's different from band to band) and you can say early days vkei was influenced in the looks department by Western glam rock. Their music was influenced by Kiss, Motley crue and wouldn't be surprised if David Bowie's works and persona left influences on vkei. The thing about vk is that it went beyond Western glam and brought in elements of all kinds of music in it, although a lot of visual kei bands are rock or metal bands, they aren't strictly tied to any specific genre. The music can be of any genre - hard rock, gothic rock, grunge, pop, metalcore, electronicore, progressive death metal, speed metal, thrash metal and the list goes on. There is this wonderful freedom in the whole vkei subculture. However, it's important to note that in the visual kei subculture fashion is important as the music itself. So a crazy amount of dough gets spent on the costumes, make-up, the props, etc. I find the fashion aspect of this subculture very interesting and appealing but a lot of people don't like it and find the aesthetics freaky and effeminate. Well then one can just listen to the music and ignore the rest.

Visual Kei is a music genre that originates from Japan and became popular in the 1980s. It's made up of Rock and Metal genres but it's also about how the artists dress. The hair styles, makeup and costumes, it's all part of it😊
