PVC and TPO Flat Roofing Installation - Welding PVC / TPO seams

PVC and TPO Flat Roofing Installation - Step by Step guide showing installation of Roof Insulation, Field Welding of PVC / TPO membrane sheets with Liester Varimat automatic welder and hand welding with Liester Triac hand welder, probing the seam welds, doing a seam cut test and patching the hole in the roof.
In this video you will see installation of high density insulation. Next, PVC roof sheet is welded with Liester automatic welder at 15 feet per minute.
Then you can see TPO roof being welded with hand welder (Liester Triac).
Finally a seam weld is tested with probe and then a test cut is made. a 2x4" piece of roof is cut out across the seam, to test the depth and quality of the weld. A pull test is performed to make sure seam does not com apart.
Finally, the hole in the roof is patched by welding a 9x12" patch of PVC material. Repairing PVC / TPO flat roofs can easily be performed in the same manner - welding a patch of virgin membrane over aged membrane (after proper cleaning).

Can the weld be several inches in on the overlap? Just had a roof done and argued with the contractor that the seam should be tight at the edge. Otherwise water will get rapped in the space and freeze and thaw and break the seam eventually. Am I correct?

Yes, needs to be flat but will not break, only need 1.5 inch weld

The front wheel should be around 1/8-1/4 over the seam. If u welding in socks the dog is not hot enough! I could hand weld that as fast as he was going easily

that depends on the material. I've welded IB and Durolast under 2" of water no problem. it just takes time, skill, and knowledge. When flash floods and ponds are both common you would be suprise what you can learn.

Yall need to do a 2 pass and you can cut up 2 rectangles to weld and check the robot to make sure it's welding properly instead of cutting a hole in your roof but all in all the worse this I see is fucking tennis shoes yall need some boots

I've done pvc in -10. Everything has to be slowed down by a factor of magnitude. It can be done but you better know what your doing. He does have the tip of the heater at the wrong angle and backwards at times though.
