I have used WPC door frames and fiberglass doors for bathrooms and kitchen utility. I am happy with these because both are 100% water resistant and because fiberglass doors are light weight, there is not much load on hinge screws either.

Somewhere I have read that WPC door frames will have issues with screw fittings over a period of time. Is it true?

@@trulyhumane1591 Most of the people would have experienced it. That is primarily because of the quality of the WPC and lack of understanding about WPC amongst the Carpenters. Things to be taken care of when using using WPC frames. 1) Use high density WPC material for frames 2) Use light weight doors, so that load on screws is less. I used fiber glass doors. 3) If you are using flush door, Use more hinges or hinges with more screw holes to fix the door 4) Use thinner and longer screws along with glue Couple of more points to remember when using WPC frames. 1) Using WPC frames will not be cheaper than using wooden frames. 2) Using WPC frames provides excellent resistance to water I have used them for bathrooms. It has been over 1 year. As of now, everything is going well.

@@trulyhumane1591 Economical options are a trap. They will definitely have problems with holding the screws. Anything less than 800 Kg/cubic metre for a door frame is going to be a disaster.

One problem I see with PVC board is that they tend to deform with heat and when hit with heavy objects. It has to be looked at as a different product and not as an alternative to plywood. There are places where one can be used in place of other but not everywhere (even if you take the cost factor out of consideration)
