Howdy ya'll just here for a quick comment. -First off, I do not think ANY of the games in the thumbnail, or generally pvp games, are bad. I actually really liked them at one time, and I'll even sometimes keep myself updated on what's happening with said games -Secondly, whether or not you think Pillar Chase 2 is even a pvp to beginning with is your opinion. (Do not start arguing the replies I swear) Personally I believe it qualifies as one since it's a player vs players, but I've heard some valid points on why it is one or why it isn't. That's an entirely different discussion that I don't feel like getting into. -Lastly, if you enjoy pvp games I am NOT attacking you. You enjoy what you want to enjoy, I will never change what you like. This is just a video on why I don't find them any fun. Let's all stay respectful!

I started to play Phighting in July of 2023, during the Ice Cream VS Popsicle Phestival, which, as of writing this, was right in the middle of the game's timeline. While this may not be considered early, it was early enough for me to easily gain skill with characters such as Rocket and Sword, despite this game being one of the first PVP games I actually played. Now, I'm level 206 in Phighting, and the problem nowadays is clear. Noobs can barely get a chance to learn and with me having so much experience, the people I fight barely give me any challenge. This could also be why a portion of the phighting community is more for its comics and lore and whatnot, rather than the actual gameplay.

I agree. But I don't think that discards a stance that is borne from being bad at pvp games. Hyper sweats will attach to a single game and master it, but some of us are simply seeking immediate fun, and don't feel like spending huge periods of time improving our skill for no tangible gain other than to be able to compete in a game, worse if we become so good the competition is no longer fun. Co-op games are more enjoyable, because you can still improve at co-op games, but you never out-perform the competition, and many co-op games integrate scaling difficulty to give you a dynamic ceiling to push against. PvP games have a very small sweet spot where you feel challenged and yet don't feel outclassed, and you won't stay in that goldilocks zone for long. Co-op intrinsically has a greater opportunity for you to have fun, even moreso because you get to play with people from varying skill levels and have a mutual impact. Instead of harming a new player's experience, you can directly improve it and help them improve their skill and reach further heights with your help. I've always had this opinion, with very few PvP games managing to capture my interest for long, and most that do are profoundly interesting and often are more strategical than they are tactile.

Makes a ton of sense. People will act toxic all because you killed them once. It’s mostly an ego booster from what I can see since the more they beat you, the more confident they grow. Some people even rage quit during battles just because you’re better than them. Skill issue is a common saying and I really don’t see the point of saying this. It’s just a skill gap. It’s not a “skill issue”. I can see why you wouldn’t really play these games, and I’ve also strayed away from these after a while. Also yay Depth Spelunking!

I can definitely see that. I don't really play pvp games as much, unless I'm playing in private servers or smaller servers with friends. Which is mainly due to the competitive players making it impossible to play casually without getting brutally killed every moment you're in their sights 😭And it's also due to some other reasons that I won't share. But it's mostly just the competitive people that ruin it for me.

My very first experience with The Strongest Battlegrounds was getting jumped by 4 people because of my furry avatar, not fun isn't it? I did go back every now and then, since I still like the game, however it still only takes a maximum of 5 minutes to be targeted for seemingly no reason. I eventually just gave up on the game since its just too toxic and sweaty. Also its often not fun for me to fight against my own friends in PVP either, I'm considered to be the most experienced in my friend group when it comes to fighting games, so I have to HEAVILY nerf myself for others to have fun. I suffer from the skill gap in another way entirely, not everyone is as experienced as me and I feel bad for stomping someone who can't defend themselves.

Ftf is such a good game and I love playing it but since i'm a high level and only play ftf rarely ever I sometimes get people complaining how bad I am and then start harassing me, which makes me play the game even less. Plus I keep getting people who camp and make it extremely frustating to just play the game.

Honestly the amount of competition from games makes it mildly infuriating, sometimes the game itself isn't the problem and is the people and community. A lot of people are usually toxic because of the competition with high egos and pride. I'm usually easy to adapt in games I let some newbies have some fun while at it. Most of the time I play with friends because it is funny or chaotic that gives the game it's use. I can personally agree that people can be pieces of poopy heads but the game itself gets the reputation from those people. One of the good games there is "Phighting" full of sweats sure but people there are friendly and actually have fun and communicate. People have opinions and I'll respect it thank you very much. are

i honestly agree with you, I used to love MM2 and beta Item Asylum when some players are slowly learning and trying to have fun but i slowly drift apart from pvp type games for some years or months. I been trying to stay away from toxic players and i rarely talked. If i see a new player trying new game I'll hit them once an let them be, if they want to kill me i let them because they can understand how the game works. In Item Asylum, every single player always votes for JGN. I leave the game once i feel like I'm going to be JGN, i do like being JGN but i can't even attack other players because I'm trying my best. (*cough* TRUD too as killer) Sometimes i feel salty but get over it for some time. Another reason why i rarely play pvp games, emoting as you die. (used to play Kaiju Paradise too but I'm losing interest due tryhard's *cough*) I've been playing a lot more of pve or rpg games (or any other games like Evade) :/

I agree, and one thing I like about PVP games is that they can have modes that have no PVP, or just single player, aka private server. For example, I decided to play and make progress on a private server in Survival Game, and I was doing fine, and upgrading gear as usual, with no other players to interrupt me.

I cannot stop thinking how I might ruin other's day everytime I killed someone in PvP, but unfortunately they didn't think of same way that I do. So it's kinda hard to give it all unless they forced you to give your all by making you aggravated via taunting. Genuinely, I found that games like A Dusty Trip, Block Tales, Bee Swarm Simulator, DOORS is more comfortable to me because you can play as solo and have all the solitude you want, or opt-in to some company with others and have fun with their shenanigans. Though I still want to play item asylum but yeah, as the time goes my skill gap with others would be even further due to lack of playing, I stopped playing after tpr all the bosses.

Of course, i wanted to sharpen up skills more so i decided to play that game and i get really good at it. I have a general disdain of PvP games, mainly stems from my time playing COD and DBD, the trash talking was heinous. If that wasn't enough people kept whining and moaning over miniscule changes acting like it's the end of the world and ceaselessly demanding buffs and nerfs, though let's be real, DEVELOPERS WILL NEVER BALANCE THEIR GAMES. I've started to lean more towards PvE games because they aren't as stressful to play and the communities have that sense of camaraderie to them (games like Helldivers or Deep Rock Galactic).

I like pvp games, but only when I am in the private server or in small server. The way people want in roblox is creativity and entertainment, and i never even played TSB before. I hate PvP games too. Which is funny, because I like brawl stars. My main, Stu, is extremely hard to master. And other players can be ruthless towards me simply for my lack of understanding on how to use him. It took me… like… a week to figure out how his super worked. Not to mention how fvcked up the meta is right now…. 🥲 (And sure, there are practice matches. But humans act differently from bots.) There’s also a PvP game I used to enjoy called “kajiu paradise”. I didn’t play it to fight, I played it for the cool characters. But people in the game were so toxic, it was disgusting. Insulting people, humping their bodies after killing them, it was awful and I couldn’t take it anymore. Plus, in pvp games, you have to learn all these weird tricks that take FOREVER TO MASTER. And when you magically don’t know how to do said trick, everyone hates you. It’s just crazy.

for the 1.yes actually on first release there were less of sweaty player on pvp game but the time goes on and more it unfriendly for newcomer it where the real challenge begin. This is where you gain pvp skill,dead n dead n dead that how i manage to become well average player atleast on (cron fighting gaem).newcomer need to adapt and yes suffer to inhabit pvp game. 2.Not really all pvp game having moving goal there many like arsenal,bedwars,critical strike the goal to win,and yes many having moving goals like rogue lineage,deepwoken,cron fighting gaem,mortem metallum,elemental battleground. but this is where you having fun on pvp game, the freedom to having you own goals either finding friends, keep pvping, experimenting. but i see what you talking about the fastness of meta (most effective tactics available) changing, well this is one of skill pvper player has it experimenting, people finding new mechancis then abuse it is not something fun but you could try to adapt to it or counter it many pvp game keep thing balanced. 3.the toxicity well yes it tonna ruin you days but temporary you not gonna be depressed over losing right? exception for rogue lineage player. yes sadly the toxicity is the community not the game it just luck to find no toxicity in a server or able to counter the toxicity itself 4. well yes this is the literal reasom why i love fighting game people say "skil izue" and not a suportif gameplay really a mean thing not giving a tips,info or anything to help is why i really love pvp games especially fighting game it allows me to explore the game itself not getting spoiler. they force you to grow up in yet dangerous enviroment by yourself. ah my gold days cron fighting game,bedwars,n,troublesome battleground 2,vampire hunter 2,survive the night,r2d,critical strike,monster island,monke game,mutation,base raider,build a base and sword fight,mortem metallum, average plate gaem, and many more of which i forgor the name of.those many not specifically pvp i just love it .Conclusion is that each people have their own way entertain yerself and pvp game is a game full of suffer it name player vs player it just like people vs people in real life but easy mode. Pve games can be just as toxic as well (like how Elitist the Ultrakill community can get for example), but the luxury of them is that you will really only encounter it if you decide to interact with the community, but if its a Co-op Pve game that requires a lot of teamwork it's a whole other story because you will be FORCED to interact with the community just like PVP games and they will yell at you for making the smallest of mistakes or for not using "Meta" stuff, obviously there are exceptions to this like if you only play with your friends or something, but if you don't have friends that play those type of games you will have to settle for strangers, you play dandy's world so i'm pretty sure you would get what i'm saying here. (i honestly don't encounter TOO MUCH toxicity when i play PVE Co-op games and have a lot of fun with them but when i do it feels like i'm in league of legends or something)

i don't hate pvp games either and have fun with them but i Do take breaks from them due to them being too much for me sometimes. (same with teamwork heavy PVE games but it's less common than with pvp games)

@@Infestivity well not the game obviously but the community, it's why i said "you will only encounter it if you interact with the community" i've seen a lot of video's where people talk about how "elitist" it's fanbase can get so i used it as an example, A streamer named Albino talked about how people were complaining in his chat that he wasn't switching weapons every 5 picoseconds and that he was "playing the game wrong". although if this video was talking about Only the games themselves specifically and not the community interaction then i suppose it is a bad example, but since the video brought up asking for advice to beat a boss online and "Usually getting nice people help with your questions" (which isn't always the case as shown with the "skill issue" problem in the video) i assume it does include community interaction when it comes to singleplayer PVE games.

i mean the ultrakill community isn't all bad and has good people in it, But it CAN get bad if you encounter those infamous toxic ones, as with all communities ever. There is always a risk of encountering toxic people within a community unless you just don't interact with it at all, which is my whole point.
