This lecture is really good if you want you can study the chapter rn but I'd suggest you to do Ray optics today and then you can do this chapter tomorrow . There's no connection in between these chapters but as you just said your prep is zero that's why I would suggest you do to Ray optics so that you build some confidence before doing electrostatics
