Pwnagotchi Deauth Whitelist (Handshakes, pcap, deauthentication attack, peaceful, friendly, frames)

I explain how the Pwnagotchi uses "Deauthentication frames" to speed up and increase the number of handshakes it is able to capture.
Currently majority of WLAN management frames are unprotected and can therefore be spoofed by Pwnagotchis and attackers.
Since 2009, there is the 802.11w standard which solves that security gap, but it is still only used by a small number of users/devices.
I receommend to whitelist neighbouring as well as you own networks, to reduce the impact the Pwnagotchi has to these networks.

There are some changes related to the configuration with the latest Pwnagotchi versions. config.toml replaced config.yml file and therefore new syntax and also commands are used to change the behavior. 5:39 main.whitelist = [ "WiFiTube", "Example_Home_Network", "fo:od:ba:be:fo:od", "fo:od:ba" ] 7:10 personality.advertise = true personality.deauth = true personality.associate = true Via config.toml you could change personality.deauth to false, if you do not want your Pwnagotchi to deauth stations.

If I would theoreticaly want friendly Unit, should I change advertise, associate and deauth change to false?

I just install Pwnagotchi on Raspbeey Pi 4, I put my wifi station in whiltlist. I am not carry Pwnagotchi hang around, it stay home, over 30 hours, screen show "I'm extremely boring" Suddenly, Pwnagotchi start attck my whitelist network, my home wifi. I am no idea about this, I power off my Raspberry Pi 4.

Are you sure that it really attacked you whitelisted network? If it's correctly whitelisted (correct network name, which is case sensitive or MAC address) the Pwnagotchi shall not "actively" attack it. There still might be some captured handshakes from the whitelisted network, but these are gained passively without the use of deauth attacks.

Hi, can you tell me how to show the pwnagotchi ui on an android display using bt theter?(phone is rooted) The only thing i can find in the browser is the bettercap ui, but no pwnagotchi. Help please!😊

@@WiFiTube I'm running a 9dbi antenna on mine and it works great! I'm just looking for the perfect case design now to print with my 3d printer to support the screen, battery and antenna mod.

@Permanently Patriotic 9dBi sounds very good! :-) But probably this antenna is pretty long? 20 or more centimeters? I've selected this case for my project: www.thingiverse.com/thing:4608240 But it is without battery, so you might need to create your own case. I would be really interessted to see the final result. :-)

Do you have to configure it through a computer or can you do it on your phone as well? Also what would be the reason to have this realistically? I think I kind of want it to to snoop around and see what I find honestly lol

So I’ve had mine plugged in for a few hours and the status message (on web UI) says It kicked 20 stations and it’s made 115 friends. What do those mean? Can’t believe it’s found 115 other Pwnagotchis since i haven’t taken it out of the house.

In this case it refers to 115 wireless networks.
