PXN V10 - A Good Entry Level Wheel for Rally Fans? | Unboxing and Review

It's fair to say that sim-racing with a wheel isn't the cheapest of hobbies out there.. So it's always interesting to see if there are some more cost-effective options that can still offer an enjoyable experience without hurting your wallet too much.
The PXN V10 is one such option. Subject to change, it is currently priced at £289.99 in the UK, $279.99 in the US and 299.99 EUR in mainland Europe. This is similar in price to the Logitech and Thrustmaster entry level wheels, however the PXN V10 package also includes the shifter, as well as the wheel and pedals.
But is it any good, and can you still be competitive with this wheel? Hopefully this video will help to answer those questions. Feel free to ask me any questions about this wheel set and I'll give you my honest answers in the comments.

This is the first review video I've ever done, just wanted to challenge myself to do something a bit different and I tried to make it relatable to rally gaming as that's where my real passion is (and I know it's the same for a lot of you guys out there too!)

I don't know if you Have Fixed you're Issue with F5. But I got it working for me on Forza. If you own the game threw Steam, You have to Right click the game, go to properties, and to controller and turn off Steams controller setting. Then when you get in the Forza Game when you go to the Steering Wheel mapping you have to Hover over "Layout" and Press -> (Right Arrow) on your Keyboard. Then you should be Able to set KeyBinds. Hope this helps.

I've been thinking about getting a wheel for months now but i just can't find the right one for me, at the moment i'm just using a standard Xbox One controller and i feel like i've reached my limit with it, i know i can be faster on so many stages but being on a controller isn't exactly the easiest especially on some of the tight rallies. I have broken a decent amount of World Records on the WRC games series (i'm not bragging about this in any way but it may sound like i am) but sometimes seeing someone on a wheel again just makes me think that i could definetly be faster, great video and thanks for testing different games! Also nice to see a fellow Scot doing this😁

And if you are already good with a controller, chances are you’ll be even better with a wheel once you get a good feel for it. Thanks for the comment. I was just completely honest with how I found this wheel, no hidden agendas here! I have used Logitech wheels, TM wheels and this one and I genuinely felt that for the money the FFB was decent. There have been various updates to this wheel based on content creator feedback, so it is also possible that I received an updated version with better FFB. Can’t say for sure though but I was happy with how it felt personally, my opinion hasn’t changed

Thanks for the comment man, appreciate it :) WRC has a few issues, but I do still enjoy it. The stage design is really great and it’s fun to be able to use the WRC cars. It’s also sometimes nice just to have another rally game to play now and then for a change! However, there are rumours flying around just now that the new Codemasters WRC game is coming out in Spring 2023, so it might be worth just waiting to see if any more news comes out confirming the accuracy of these rumours.. :)

Wrc has better tarmac feedback than dirt rally 2 imo since in dr2 tarmac just feels like a boat. But everything else feels better on dr2. Sound, design, and graphics, and there is a current throttle issue where nothing will happen unless you step the throttle down at least 80% of the way which is an issue that still exists. An upside I can think of is being able to use official current WRC cars which are pretty interesting with the hybrid system

Yeah it’s not bad at all, the wheel itself was really nice. Pedals and shifter could maybe just do with a bit of TLC but not a bad all round package :)

The wheel is nice, but the only issue is the in-game wheel doesn't match up with the physical one when I try to run a track. Is there any way you could share what your settings are for your wheel?

If you set steering saturation to 50 and turn soft lock off, it should all match up :)

I got PXN V10 too however the FFB in dirt rally 2 doesn’t work

So I actually had that issue once and I was able to sort it by holding down the middle ‘PXN’ button until it turned blue, then held it down again until it went back to red and after that the FFB was working properly :) Let me know if it works for you 👍

I would say WRC 9 is a good starting point :) Dirt Rally 2 is defo tougher, but lots of fun too! 👍

what is the damping and friction setting in the app? ive tried to understand what the description was outputting. but couldn’t grasp of what it actually do

So I believe that a higher damping setting should reduce vibration of the wheel, and the higher friction setting should make the wheel harder to turn with more resistance. That was my understanding anyway, but sorry I don’t have the wheel anymore to double check it

While there were things I really did like about this wheel, I think personally I would still go for either a Logitech or TM. That being said I still think there’s a lot of fun to be had with this one, the FFB in particular is really great, but I think I slightly preferred the pedals/shifter of the Logitech g29 that I used to own. Plus some of the connectivity issues with PC games were a bit frustrating :)
