HUMAN TOUCH experiments with the liberation of sound from its source and the liberation of the performers from contact with their instrument.
Ralf Schmid experiments with technological developments that make it possible to create extraordinary sound worlds, closely connected to the artists' own body movements.
In addition to the Trondheim Voices and Ralf Schmid as soloist, the string players of the O/Modernt Orchestra are sent on a journey of discovery with their instruments and sounds, the outcome of which is uncertain. The sound designer Asle Karstad plays a leading role in the creation of the new sound world.
This inevitably raises the question of physical quality, of the sheer physicality of music-making. And about what role the physicality of music making plays in saving poetry in the digital. "The Human Touch" thus also becomes a game with the categories of sound, sound body, movement - and an expedition between the poles of distance and proximity.
