Hey man, great video. Although I understand why, Im surprised by the lack of venomous care guides on youtube. We dont want just anyone thinking they can safely and properly care for a very dangerous animal. Iv been keeping snakes for 20 years (mostly boas and colubrids) and recently got my first venomous, a neonate southern pacific rattlesnake. He is doing great so far and has ate all 3 times iv attempted to feed him, so he feels secure and "happy". Anyway thanks for all the content and im bingeing it now.

I caught one of these little guys in the pan handles of Florida and he did well. When I caught him he was the size of a half-dollar. Before I got rid of him for legal reasons - he was eating full grown mice.

They are such an rewarding species! But have you ever looked into actually getting a permit?

I live in GA so this one of the six species we can have legally(and IMO the coolest). How are they with handling? Are they easy to control on a hook or tongs? Which brand do you recommend?. And where do you get these guys? I could catch one ig but are they ever at shows? thanks

They are not the best one for handling. They do not stay on hooks well either. But I would recommend having both hooks and tongs to be honest! But you just have to look online and check everyday to see if someone posts about selling them!

would sand be better for the snake to move around on?

Maybe so. It’s just such a heavy substrate to use!
