last weekend (October 7/8) we went out to fish the Mid and had a great day jigging at Warrior Point. There were a lot of boats there but not as many actually catching fish. Are kayaks and small row boats subject to a permit fee and boat regulations. Reading the regulations it not clear to me.

I apologize... I made that segment after I had already lost both of them :( but when I went into Crosby's to replace them they were actually made by Seirra Spoon! its the exact profile of the pline but it has a way better finish.

hello is pyramid lake a safe place for beginner kayakers? because my pop wants to kayak there alone next week, is it a safe hobby? he doesn't swim well... I need a professional kayaker's opinion on this matter.

Honestly that is a hard question to answer... Pyramid is notorious for its high wind and volatile weather changes... on some days... like the one i filmed... it is glass and anybody could fish it from virtually any platform. A few things to consider when fishing big lakes... one... always have good tabs on the weather forecast. I personally use the windfinder app and obviously the forecast you can get from the weather channel. Also, in conditions a little more sketchy I keep within a short paddle of the shore... I do not let myself "accidentally get swept away" . I do not know your pops so I cant comment on his fitness level or his balance etc... so for this weekend I would advise only fishing on saturday if he is new to it. I hope this answers your question... it is always hard to give a good answer to questions like these.

Not for beginners....People die every year while in their boats and while fishing off their ladders.... Waves and wind can get up very fast! You must be very aware of the changing weather conditions!

Ya you cant play with this lake. Winds can get things serious quickly. Only mess with good weather windows even when on a boat here.

If you are a beginner and not a strong swimmer DO NOT come to pyramid lake to learn. I repeat … go to a calm beachy shallow area for the first several times and build up skills.
