this is probably the MOST IMPORTANT technique you could EVER teach a home producer - This solves sooooo many problems we have 1: Stuck on an endless loop thats going nowhere 2: Ur song missing sections and reptitive 3: Tackling procastination and beat blocks 4: ACTUALLY FINISHIN SOMETHING

I missed this AbletonKONTROL feature SO MUCH! WOW it really exist and its free! Hell Yeah! I am using DJ Controller wich was normaly designed to MIX Tracks in Traktor, but this Kontrol Script will make the perfect mapping so much more comfortable! Thanks!

For me, coming from a dj background and recently stepped into production the way of working here is exactly what native instruments was trying to do with their remix deck controllers in NI traktor pro 2. Imagine exporting your clips to traktor remix decks (for example decks C and D), using 2 NI F1 controllers or the apc 40 mk2 mapped to traktor pro 2. Layering the clips with the beautifully traktor effects. That's live remixing. Ableton, the apc40 mk2 and NI traktor pro2 (and their controllers) are on a very close base in this!

I just bought an APC40 from a pawn shop and it seems like it can be used as a very powerfull insturment. My only problem with working with it is that there are very few video tutorials on how to actually opperate it and I'm brand new at using ableton in general. I would love to learn how to do live performances with this machine as I am a new DJ learning the craft and artform but I guess that my best bet will be just to spend a bunch of hours just messing around on it and learning more about the software and hardware until I'm able to fully understand it.

I know machine has a group button but can i do this on all midi controllers. I currently have a novation impulse and looking at getting a midi controller for my loops and fx controls

Awesome video! ClyphX looks really interesting, but hard to use!
@haui828 жыл бұрын
Great video, I will try that out. I hate unmusical copy and pasting. ClyphX looks intersting. I never tried it because I was afraid of all the additional features. I have so much possibilities already :D
@nandoblondemobydick54387 жыл бұрын
yes me too, to me the first step is to do a single 6 knobs macro with multifunction per knob to control an instrument rack, (Synth + FX´s) in the way i can improvise emotions, creating relax and tension, then once i get ride of that go to the ClyphX Macrobat, but the first part of ClyphX XclipS Xclue Xcontrol can be put in practice from now, i guess you know is all about getting practice recording performances, then place them arranged in a musical and art manner, buff... not easy but that´s real most modern Techno productions.
@francescomilloni8 жыл бұрын
nice :) i guess clyphx is a bit of an overkill just for controlling macros, a multi-macro knob in M4L is the easiest way to get around with that
@whitenoisefromelectronicto17285 жыл бұрын
Great tutorial! Is there a way to create an effect rack without using external stuff? Can I do it all in Ableton?
@zenluiz8 жыл бұрын
Hi, is it really necessary to have that MACROBAT channel in order to hard-map the macros on each channel to the APC?
@LiamShy8 жыл бұрын
I addressed this point in the video. In the end I also midi mapped to the user knobs on the top, however that was simply for ergonomic reasons. The power of macrobats really gets amplified once you delve into larger, more complex setups. This was a small demo, limited to 4 tracks and 8 knobs, but on a bigger scale production, the macrobats would be a massive help to stay organized in a way that's not possible with Ableton Live's default mapping alone. *Bonus - there are also MANY more features that come with ClyphX besides macrobats. I'd encourage you to check out the site and learn about the wide variety of functions available. Happy mapping!
@toukeus20002 жыл бұрын
That's what I was thinking, because when he's jamming, it's not the ClyphX track that is selected. Why? I was looking for something like that though to be able to organize my hard mapping in a better way. I'll check other fonctionnalities it's very interesting even if I don't get why the ClyphX track is not selected during the demo.
