I trully believe we all Revit users should be highly grateful for this add-on Ehsan has created, things that Autodesk should have implemented in Revit, but for some reason they haven't. A big THANK YOU from a structural technician in London UK.

Thank you guys for a most interesting video on PyRevit. I've watched this video more than once and have installed PyRevit very recently and look forwards to using it. Like Ehsan I am an architect. I taught myself programming in BASIC language and created programs I used in my work in the past. I have too many interests to allow me to take the next step up, music being one, into Python although I did flirt with Python more recently but did not follow it to a useful conclusion; may go back to it, you never know!!
Great Information... Looking forward to seeing more. Thank you.

Thank you, pyRivit is a great tool. Question: The (work flow) sequence of operation for Match [Override] is not the same as Match Properties when selecting parameters. There is no option button for match properties to save the parameter selections. So each time use the tool you must reapply the property selection. The shift pick only using the previous "values" and not the parameter selection of a new element that has a fdifferent set of values. Is there another way to set the property selection for repeat use so that the tool can be used more productively? A simple example is if I want to copy over the comments from one family to another. (From a door to a wall) Then repeat the operation for a second set of families (from a different door and wall). This is how the Match override works.

Long time fan of pyRevit and recently started my own firm using Revit LT. Since LT doesn’t support add ins is there’s another way to get these amazing tools with Revit LT? Trying to keep costs down as I launch my firm, but keep efficiency.
@TheRevitKid2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, no. Autodesk has removed quite a few very valuable tools to make Revit “LT” … the use of plugins being one.

Is there any way I can link a preflight check to my starter page in revit so upon opening a model, it automatically runs and sends the results to my starter page? Or even just revit warnings? This way the user is forced to look at warnings every time they open the model. Also, is it possible to link to a pdf manual from this starter page? Thanks, you really got me motivated to work on the department template.

Cad blocks have an option to add stretch which allows you to just drag block components. Is there an equivalent in revit? Anything which allows to manually drag one family component (like an additional movable truss) from project level?
@TheRevitKid4 жыл бұрын
Yes and yes...Parametric families are similar to CAD blocks but way more powerful.
