Heyyyy everyone! I don't know where to start ... nice to see you again ! Last time I uploaded a video on my channel was more than a year ago and doing it after 1 year almost feels like it's my first time (kyaah //A//). Hope you guys are all doing great, that you peacefuly survived covid and all that happened afterward. I know in some of your countries things are still going so I hope you all the best to face the situation. The past 12 months have been full of exciting but not yet released projects: I've worked on a short movie soundtrack for a Kumo's masters thesis project, recorded 4 covers (this one included), composed a proudful original song for someone (unfortunately can't say more until release). 12 months of hard work, not only on the musical side but also on my day job, that has been very demanding in terms of braincells and energy. 12 months trying to experiment some composition ideas for Boo:ooM. The album is still on the work, even after 5 years. A lot happened on the visual side, which I shall communicate very soon, freezing the video production for a undetermined time. I have to admit I spent a good portion of the year feeling anxious, stressed and sad about my lack of energy and resource to both deal with my day job + my musical goals, and I can't thank enough all the people who have been there to support me, creatively and listening to my never ending rants. Somehow, I start seeing a bit of light at the end of the tunnel and manage to find resources, time and energy to keep creating, walking on that thin line ! I just turned 30 this month and I realized I can, and should, still thrive and reach my dreams no matter what, but this would require some dedication. UUUHHH !! Enough about me ! More about the song ! Of course, I've still been following the basics of anime with the last season of Shingeki ... and its songs : ) I was first very curious about what the opening song would be and wether I'd be fit to sing it. Sim's Rumbling first screamo line came, making me go "Nope. Unfortunately not my ability ;'D" (love the song though) However, I immediately vibed with the ending song, melancholic yet very bright in its theme. So today I'm here to offer you this cover of Ai Higuchi's song "Akuma no Ko" (Child of the Devil ... cause that's obviously what I am, right?), in collaboration with the great, the unique, the prodigy MISTER FARHAN SARASIN !! This is our third collaboration together and he is still a never ending inspiring person and I cannot thank him enough for delivering his best and for being such a pleasant musician to work with. Thank you again Farhan ! The song was somehow in a very confortable headvoice range for me, but it was still very challenging to convey the right emotions. I tried my best to sing in a way that would feel like "flying" over a dark forest (that's the picture I was having in my mind all along) and I hope it tells ! We also thought about adding a piano solo during the instrumental break and bringing back some parts SnK soundtracks ("Call of Silence") in it. Big thanks to Chinh for her help and feedbacks during recording stage, but also Diego, Kusa and Pernelle for their precious feedbacks on mixing stage ! I hope you guys will enjoy our performance !
