hello Jeff, nice vid. I did a lot of wiring in the eighties, no fancy ancor tinned wire. I soldered, liquid tape and heat shrink, especially battery cables. Do you think it's overkill on new fangled wire, how bout your boat.

Thank you for your question Roger. For my own boat and for the work we do on other boats,I like to use heat-shrink terminals. First off it’s a good mechanical connection that is better suited to withstand vibration in comparison to a solder connection. Also the big advantage is that the terminal comes with a heat shrink that can shrink down when heat is applied to make the connection as moisture resistant as possible. My philosophy for handy work on boats is to do it right and do it once. I value my time, and there’s more work to be done, so I don’t like the idea of having to revisit something in a few years.
