So as per my understanding rds proxy & elasticache both used for faster retrieving data from database. So does we have to use both of this service for database or just any of them is good enough for?

Hello Pythoholic.....i have one question ... by having an application running on instances, providing a db, elasticache, monitoring etc are we on platform as a service level or Infrastructure as a service level.... can you mention if application management on EC2 instances is PAAS or still IAAS ?

That fall under both Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) categories. EC2 instances, where your application is running, are an IaaS offering. IaaS provides virtualized computing resources over the internet, allowing you to configure and manage the infrastructure at the virtual machine level. However, services like a managed database (e.g., RDS or DynamoDB), Elasticache, and monitoring tools can be considered PaaS offerings. PaaS provides a platform for developers to deploy and manage applications without worrying about underlying infrastructure, as the platform takes care of it.
