I've taken a python course about 8 years ago.... I have never made it through a full lecture and honestly cheated my way through the class to get the credit. This video was the first time I sat through the entire thing and understood what I am trying to learn lol. Why we still need to pay thousands of dollars to learn something to get a piece of paper that says "I did it" is beyond me.

Man, thanks so much! Either it is your teaching style that is starting to make things finally click for me or it's just that I've spent enough time trying to get a first grasp (hard, because python tutorials include arithmetic which is a huge trauma for me, but that aside, we've got Khan Academy for that). Excellent video! Highly helpful in my role in my company as a person who bridges the gap between what the business needs and writing in the code du jour what is needed to get there. Notes/corrections: 21:14 "Floor operator" Be aware other synonyms may be more prevalent in your industry. For math guys like me, this is the "integer" part of the value. For general business, this is "whole number part" of the value. For "2.5", this is the "2" in that. The demonstrated procedure of "5//2" does that, but be aware there is literally an integer function also. 21:40 "But let's say I just want to know what the remainder is, I can use the modulus operator for that" Earlier in the video, you acknowledged "I have a remainder of .5". However, the "modulus" function you demonstrate, "5%2" results in "1" which is not the true modulus which is "5". "5%2" seems to take the remainder "0.5" and rounds it to "1" . . . or whatever it is doing, it is not "5". Aside from that, the use of the word "remainder" must be explicit as to if you want the "fractional part" that the "remainder" represents or the "modulus" that the "remainder" represents. For example, in the expression "1+4/100" the result is "1.04". Modulus is "4", however fractional part is "0.04". You must then use the Python function or other method which gives you that which you or your end-user is explicitly asking for.

Hey, I was doing CPM on darn punch cards in 1979 for a college class! Then at least the computer terminal debuted a year later at my university and along came Basic and Pascal.....along with Cobol and other lower level languages.

Firstly, thanks for the tutorial Well, python is a really elaborate topic not a single thing! So 1 hour is something that I give to learn python, Of course, this is a beginner guide as I know python already, this tutorial covers what I know. Still, the way you explain might just be a brush-up for me. But, suddenly now I just feel not too much interested in learning python, it's your tutorial though so I'll watch it till the end. I would like to have a unity tutorial which I am really interested in. But looking forward more I might get to learn a lot about python. This tutorial was a much waited one.
