Nothing wrong with Herb wanting to sleep in his crate. That’s his safe place. I watch the Gone To The Snow Dogs KZbin channel, and they at one time had a husky (Oakley) that only slept in her crate… that was her safe place. They just left the crate door open all the time so Oakley could come and go as she pleased.

When it comes to crate training, I'm all for it!! That is a safe place for a dog to go when they want, and you, as an owner, know they are safe! We had a dog that would go into his crate and nap there. You are doing a fantastic job with having six pets in the house.

No grief from me. My Aussie sleeps in my room on her bed. My GSD prefers to sleep on the couch in the living room. They are both crate trained, you never know when they might need to be confined due to sickness, injury, etc.

I crate trained all my dogs. People gave me crap too. My response would always be, would you leave your toddler alone? You're right, after a while they love their crates. It's their safe and comfortable spot

I don't understand why other people gave you crap about it. I did that with my current dogs. And they will go in their crate if no one is going to be home. I'm not sure about the comparison between a toddler and a puppy, but if I did have a toddler, I wouldn't leave him unattended because that would be neglect.

I totally agree. No different from a play pen for a toddler is it. It's for their safety. (Dog crate and play pen alike)

I actually have a crate / condo for my cat. Its 5ft high, 4ft wide 2ft front to back. She has a climbing tower inside , a litterbox, food and water bowls, and toys. I live in a care facility and a major rule is she cannot run in the halls so she gets put in her condo when staff come by and my door is going to be left open . I was putting her in it if i was going out for the day to keep her from hurting herself but shes now old enough (2 in december) that i can feel secure letting her roam free in my apartment.

Bless your heart .. thank you for this … do you get recognized when you’re out and about with just one of the pooches? I can understand how hard it would be taking them all out in public and trying to blend in and it’s ok that we don’t see you out and about with them … we’d love it if you did but totally understand - we see so much lovely fun videos of them at home … there is nothing wrong with a) them sleeping with you b) any of them wanting to sleep in their crates or c) pups being crated … I hope you can keep the videos coming …. We crate train our dogs also, years ago We had a beautiful Golden who was probably the smartest dog we ever had, she loved her crate, once she was old enough to not destroy the house we would leave it open,we also had a lot of kids visit since my wife and I both came from large families and my daughter had lots of friends. Every once in a while the Golden would just have enough of all the kids and needed a break so she went to her crate, everyone knew if the dog was in the crate you left her alone. She would get her 30-60 minutes break in and come back out to play some more. It's your house and your dogs you do what's best for them and ignore the ones that don't know how to care for their dogs much less tell someone how they should care for theirs. Love your Dogs and Sophie and your wonderful videos. Can tell your family loves all your animals and as the end of this video shows, they love you too!

@tessaromein5787 yeah, we're a our dogs live here you don't type of family, luckily everyone else loves dogs ( animals ) as much as we do. Our last German Shepard got my Sister over her 40 year fear of GSDs after she was bit at 11 years old by one.

They are all wonderful dogs. But my favorite is CHARLIE. He is so goofy, has a wonderful sense of humor. I like Buddy too, he's the dog that taught how to be sweet to the other dogs. The mentor.

The crate has always been a safe haven for our pups. Our previous pup was crated every night of his life. Our current pup, 1 1/2 years old, also sleeps in her crate every night. She knows the evening routine of going outside to do her business and then into the house and straight into her crate.

Herb's name really suits him. They are all so funny & sweet but I think Buddy and Herb are my favorites because they remind me of 2 Spaniels I had years ago. One was very much a momma's boy, very loving and clingy sort of like Buddy. The other was affectionate but independent and somewhat aloof like Herb. He too preferred to sleep in his crate (or around the toilet 😂) rather than in my room at night.

I hav a 2yr old miniature Aussie doodle and he is handful 😊 I grew up with German Shepherds and Great Danes. We have become a doodle family now. I'm from AZ, too. That is so true! Why do AZ rescues have only Pit & Chihuahuas mixes. Crazy! Doodles, English Golden & Iggy mix (rescue from CA). 4 is a bit much but so fun!

I know that the owners bear responsibility but I can NEVER trust that breed. I love feel good dog 🐕 videos who have good “pawrents”😊 They make me smile again.

As do I. I tried 'crate-training' my sweet Jack Russell Terrier and he let me know in no uncertain terms that he wasn't having it by shredding the towel I had put in there for him to sleep 💤 on ‼️ And he was right; he never got into anything at night, nor were there any 'accidents' either.
