loving the podcasts, I’m nothing to do with agriculture but I find it all very fascinating and I sincerely believe in food security and not selling good farmland off to plant bloomin trees so rich companies can offset tax. CO2 isn’t the problem, it’s overpopulation of the planet and we need food and real food at that, not the ultra processed rubbish we are sold. Sorry tangent 😂 keep it up. Try and get Gareth to come up 🤟

Class I was raised around some real characters and their sayings always stuck with me , I've shared " a living mouse is better than a dead elephant " with you before. A few of my other favorites are " full stock half profit , half stock full profit " ," more corn less horn " ,the day you buy is the day you sell" , and my real favorite is when one shepherd enquired from his neighbour how lambing went he replied , " fat dog ,rusty spade " .well great craic team and as for the diversity of your hardwork and enterprises "may the shine never leave your spade ".

Only problem with finding this channel after 10 episodes is that I haven't got a lot accomplished outside of chores and checking ewes! Good job I'm really enjoying these.

“Decent folk don’t get stabbed”. Wow! That’s the attitude that has given us the British Police Force as it stands today. Thank god you switched to sheep.

Listened to the podcast on Spotify and the snow joke had me ticked pink. I understand how you feel about Christmas, my aunt that I shared a birthday with passed away Christmas morning six years ago. Easy way to ruin two days a year. Also, at least you have Angus to celebrate turning 1 this year. Iona, the second gift exchange you described sounds like a version of white elephant that we play in the US. Not sure if anyone else plays this game but I’d love to find out.

In the northern part of the United States the rate of suicide is much higher than in the southern states. It's totally related to latitude.

Thanks for the reply, wishing you both a Happy Christmas I know what you mean about not everybody enjoying the season I lost my husband last year so it’s a difficult time but I have daughters and granddaughters to distract me, hopefully Jock and Angus will help you enjoy it and of course the lovely Lizzie 🎄❤️

Not everyone that considers himself an expert is infact a expert.I am an old man and I have run across many experts in my day. You would be surprised at how many of them were idiots. I have had attorneys I had to explain the law to. Accounts that didn't know how to keep farm books.

A good farmer needs to have ADHD. Have you seen him chasing down a sheep while the dog is sitting there looking at him?
