I worked with Chase as a lighting tech back in 2007/2008 when his career was just starting to amp up. He was so nice and so genuine. I made a lighting suggestion and he didn't think twice to try it. After, he said to me. When someone has the courage to speak up and make a suggestion you could shut it down but it might actually be a great idea and to always consider everyone's suggestions regardless if you know it won't work. I have taken that advice with me throughout all aspects of my life.

Thank you guys for submitting your questions for Chayse, we tried to answer every question. Hope this helps and inspires many cinematographers to come! Apologies for the audio quality, we did our best to clean it up. We're trying to figure out a better way to capture audio when they don't have a microphone in the future!

Not every interview you watch is going to resonate. Every piece of advice you hear may not move or pertain to your situation. This interview is so concise its as if he was actually talking to me. Great content guys, keep up the goos work!

Sleeping in an office that you weren't supposed to. So many filmmakers have their broke/homeless stories. Why is that? Are we dysfunctional on some level or is it society or is it both? Great vid. Love it!

Haha we're artists driven by passion, not many people in the world are willing to sacrifice so much. World would be a better place if every profession had such passion. Can't imagine any other profession that would be willing to pay to create their own work (other than artists)
@norbertvarjasi51023 жыл бұрын
I think probably a lot more people want to break into the industry than there spaces left for them. So in the beginnning you might need to sacrifice your time/financial stability etc.

Wow! I'll definitely have to come back to this to make sure I don't forget it. There's soo much wisdom here. He's definitely one to watch. I have a feeling that Blonde will be a huge Oscar contender next year so hopefully his new preparation method leads him to a nomination.

That’s amazing value added to the conversation started on your channel! I’m really grateful to be able to find this kind of content on your channel and on KZbin for free as a aspiring filmmaker myself and as a starting KZbinr! This will surely be helpful for a loads of folks who will find this here in the future I’m pretty I’m convinced! I love and respect the fact that you figuratively and literally let artists speak their truth with their own words, that’s a great & rare quality. This must have been so time consuming, congratulation for the interview and for the content quality here! Keep up guys, it matters!

Hey Rob, we're still trying to figure out if enough people are interested in seeing this whole interview.
