Thank you very much... I am Spanish and learning these new sounds I know it will take time but I am going to try and practice as much as I can. On the other hand, I can understand now why when I was in England, the natives couldn't understand me sometimes.

Can you make one about the pronunciation of COLOR and COLLAR, please. I guess a lot of ESLers confuse them. When someone says it, I can differentiate them but have a hard time pronouncing it myself. The same are: wonder - wander bot - but got - gut bog - bug ...

Hello Shane I always see 2 types of pronunciations in a dictionary-- 'spell' and 'IPA'. I think 'spell' is easier to use. but sometimes it is confusing. like bull--/boo l/ (inclined oo), and boo /boo/. Could you spend a little bit time telling us a bit about how to read the 'spell' pronunciation? And [short u], [short i], [short a] seem a bit similar. and they all sound like 'uh' LOL. Is there any distinct difference or people can always tell from context. like cup/ put. same 'u' different sounds (\kuhp\ & \poo t\ (inclined oo, short u)).

thanks for your effort and commitment. i follow you for a long time in DD, pronunciation channel and i find it useful to enhance my command of English. anyway, i have a quenstion that how i can cope with intonation easily? my accent is not bad but i have no idea how to be like a native speaker. can u give some suggesstions? i wait patiently for your respond. hopelly, u have a great day.
@peng11109 жыл бұрын
all I wanna say is that when we ESL first came across English education. pronunciation is always quickly skipped by using shortcuts such as native syllables or what so ever... And it was really a disappointment when you finally got an opportunity to speak to some native speaker, only to find that he/she can hardly understand your accent (especially your accent is not anything they are familiar with (Indian for example).. Living on with our lives, we probably only to find that even we know how the correct pronunciation should sound, but our tongues are still incapacitated from producing those sounds...
