Hi, Jen. You mentioned that you thought you were sharing too much and I just had to tell you this story. 5 years ago I was newbie to watching you tube vloggers and was not used to seeing people share SO much of their personal lives! I would watch your videos and was actually afraid for you to the point of tears! I would seriously pray to God for you and your families safety! Then I started watching other vloggers and they seemed unharmed, so I relaxed a little and from then on just enjoyed following you and your lovely family. The other thing I wanted to say is that during this time my husband was very ill in the hospital for months and I was not sure if he was going to survive. Thank God he did pull through. And I made it through, too, by coming home after a day at the hospital and would just lose myself in your videos. It was good to be transported to someones happy life when mine was falling apart. I thank you so much for that. And I know you have said that your life isn't perfect - no ones is - but, thank you for sharing the good parts of yours for so many years. You have blessed me and others more than you can know.

About 'me time' for moms, I think it's really important to find something that you enjoy doing on your own away from the house. Either a physical activity like a group class or a social group that meets on a regular basis. I started taking ballet lessons last year and it's been great for me for my 'me time'. Helps me mentally and physically and it makes me feel like I need to be held somewhat accountable (plus I genuinely just LOVE going). So I go every week unless one of the classes is canceled or I can't make it because of childcare.

My cleaning lady brings three women and knocks it all out in an hour usually. She and I text in the morning about what time she expects to be there and what time would be best for me and then she texts me when she’s actually heading over. I spend the early part of the day preparing for her visit and listing out my errands. When I know she’s coming, we head out for errands or fun things. I don’t have babies anymore, but I did the same when I did.

Jen I also struggle sometimes with sharing my faith especially around people that I know don’t share the same beliefs as me. The Bible tells us not to hide our light, but to let it shine so that others can see it and as a result God will be glorified. I respect your need for privacy I just wondered how you reconcile that with following God’s command to tell others the Good News.

Lisa Blondell Sometimes people won’t notice your Godly behavior & simple kindness if they are too busy judging you for your religion as a whole. Some lead by example, and some like Jen, state she has faith in God and a personal relationship with him and although she chooses not use her platform for religious purposes, she certainly leads by example and that can be done with or without religion, although many people do find there religious teachings are the foundation for the kindness and love shown. Also, some of us have an easier time walking the walk instead of talking the talk because we are wallflowers and still like to share, but don’t like to prompt debate for ANY reason. Love you Jen, just the way you are, which is LOVELY!

the religion part was a surprise, I had the impression that you didn't practice anything, If I am not mistaken Don said something about not believing at all... that's why, but it is really nice to find out you do believe in God and that He is very important in your life. It is also sad that people cannot share much about religion because some get offended like if that affects others.... very sad..
@sewgatormomm6 жыл бұрын
ThePlay3000 Religion is a very personal issue. Unfortunately, there are many that feel their religion is better than another's and are disrespectful. I don't care if someone is atheist or agnostic or chooses an organized religion. It's more important how kind they are and how they treat others.
@ThePlay30006 жыл бұрын
exactly, respect that some don't believe but also respect for those who believe.
@7rachel7215 жыл бұрын
I think that one of the reasons why she doesn't talk about religion is evidenced in your comment. For example, you automatically subscribed your religious views to her: "He is very important in your life." She didn't assign God a gender and calling God "He" is offensive to some religious people (particularly those who don't subscribe to fundamentalist views). Secondly, religion is a contentious issue b/c some religious followers discriminate people who believe differently -- or live their lives differently -- then they do. Most times, religion alienates segments of the population who are oppressed by that religion (e.g., women, LGBT folks, people of other faiths, etc.).

when i first turned vegetarian in high school in the 90s, people use to ask where am i gonna get my protein from, i said the same place where the gorillas get theirs from...fruits and plants/veggies. then they asked (since i didnt drink cows milk)...where will i get my calcium from.... From the same place the cows do....dark leafy greens (grass for the cows; cows dont drink their own milk). Plant life is wonderful, especially now since there is so many varieties of planet proteins (veggie crumbles, burgers, "chicken", "pork" etc) welcome to the club! you will continue to love it. In the 90s I read book called Fit For Life! It touches on so many things that we should know as humans, stuff the USA doesnt teach or want us to know, like not cutting the umbilical cord right away and humans dont really process cows milk for calcium or animal protein well. Love you Jen! smart lady!! ok..let me get back to your video lol. xoxo

If you eat only beans even woth vegetables you are only eating empty proteins, you need to mix legumes with grains, for example beans woth rice give complete proteins with all the amino acids basically is like eating meat, of course you are missing other nutrients from the meat but you get complete proteins that way, research online so you lnow what to mix with to get complete proteins 😃

@LupieHousewife6 жыл бұрын
InuitInua I'm not Jen but I feel I can answer your question. A while back she mentioned that Don would not make many appearances on the channel because she wanted to keep that part of her life more private. I feel that is because most of the criticism she had received in the past was centered around their relationship and their dynamic. It was very undeserving. She now posts snippets of family here and there when content revolves around what she does for her children. Aside from that, mainly the channel is hers and she centers her content about what she does and likes to share when she refers to her me time. This actually reflects well on her husband and shows his support by taking care of the kiddos so she can have that time to breathe. I hope this helps answer your question.

Another great video from one of my favorite YTers. I dont like it that you are being pressured to talk about things you have made it clear you want to keep private, such as your religion. I find that pressure to be very judgemental. If you dont have religious beliefs, or yours arent the same as someone else's, or you dont want to talk about them publically, some people are going to judge you because they believe their way is the right way and everyone else should be forced to live and act that way, too. You do you and that will be great..

Pretty Neat Living Jen, I am not plant based...yet...but I saw a show several years ago, and I want to say it was America's Test Kitchen, but I am not positive, about making lettuce wraps with tofu and I did it and they were the best i have ever had. They used extra firm tofu, squeezed excess water out by weighting it and patting dry, and then shredded it with a grater. Sauteed it to brown and added all the normal lettuce wrap ingredients. It was so good and I just want to suggest that recipe to you if you are a fan of lettuce wraps. I find most meat icky and and these were a huge improvement.

This was click bait! If you weren't going to answer questions about your faith, you shouldn't have put it in the title.

Melissa Hatton she did answer... she said she isn’t going to talk about it and doesn’t plan to. If people really care that much then at least now it’s clear that she doesn’t plan on bringing it into her channel, so they can take it or leave it.

Saying your not going to answer the question is not answering the question. Why not just ignore it?

She asked about her faith and Jen replied about her strong connection to God and continues to develop that relationship. Why is that not a satisfactory answer?

Try babysleepsite.com. I have nothing to do with the site but it was so helpful for me when I had my third baby!
