I am a new COTA and starting a job in a week working with kids. I am worried about being able to build treatment plans for my kids! You spoke of building rapport and i am guessing that the first few sessions will be getting to know each other and learning the goals etc. Do you have any suggestions on how you create your therapeutic treatment plans and are goals the focus of the first few sessions with the kids. Thank you!

YES! Start with building trust and rapport! We do have a lot of podcast episodes that will be helpful when getting starting - focus on learning about sensory processing, primitive reflexes, and finding a really good mentor!
