That sound is an Eastern Whip Bird. Sounds like someone cracking a whip. The whip sound is common for all whip birds but the trailing sounds seem to vary by region. Here in my part of Sydney (near Lane Cove National Park) they just make one trailing sound but sometimes no trailing sound or it’s very quiet compared with the whip.

A real Aussie traditional dish would certainly be a roast leg of lamb baked with potatoes ,carrots , pumpkin,and other veg can include fresh beans brokili.Home made gravy plastered all over the dish This was and is also great as a Christmas lunch meal with family or friends .Despite a lot claiming Christmas lunch is a ham dish .This is not traditional only drempt up by the supermarket
