Having just finished the book, I want to start all over again. Mr. Chernow's style is literate but familiar, academic but fascinating. He puts the reader right in the same room with Washington, and so we are moved as much as Washington was when he assembled his generals and other officers to say goodbye to them at the end of the Revolutionary War. Bravo! Mr. Chernow is the only historian I hope to meet one day.

I watched both parts of this splendid interview today after enjoying the first seven chapters of "Washington: A Life" this week. I have read every one of Mr. Chernow's books except "The Death of the Banker," and consider him to be one of this nation's greatest living biographers, both in the depth of his research and the quality of his prose.

Congratulations Mr. Chernow for winning the Pulitzer. Well deserved! I look forward to many other books in the future.

Congrats to Ron Chernow winning the Pulitzer! His Alexander Hamilton was better than Washington: A Life, but both are excellent biographies.

Good writer, but a shame he is so pompous in his preening hatred of Trump.
