In slovakia we dont say i will be an hour late, we say za päť minút som tam, be sure to use it someday

On the East we use “budem hodinu meškať” as well as za päť minút som tam. There are several ways to express the time.

@@napoleon_353 "za 5 minút tam budem" isn't correct slovak grammar though. 1) we use "za" to say how long a certain activity takes (its duration) - "za 5 minút sa viem naučiť tancovať" - "I am able to learn how to dance in 5 minutes" 2) we use "o" to say when I'm going to get somewhere, or when I'm going to be able to do something: "o 5 minút tam prídem/o 5 minút budem vedieť tancovať" - "I will be there in 5 minutes/I will be able to dance in 5 minutes Hope it helps, you're channel is great x

I am from Poland, but my gf is from Slovakia, we met on YT and IG online 1-2 years ago and ever since that we started writing/talking to each other non-stop, we can even speak in our native languages and since Polish and Slovak are similar we can understand each other without any problems and they are both Slavic (West Slavic). We also liked to play together on games as well. Let me tell u, Polish is even more HARDER than Slovak like sz, cz, szcz, ł, rz, ś, ć, ź etc, I don’t speak Slovak but I can understand it and my gf understands Polish too. So yea but I really love Slovakia 💫🇵🇱💖🇸🇰💫 miłuję Słowacji z Polski!

Je skoro neuveriteľné, ako rýchlo ti pribúdajú subscriberi. Oslavuješ 10 k a už máš 10,5 . Je to super. :) Myslím si, že keď budeš pokračovať v tvorbe týchto videí, budeš jedna z najväčších československých youtuberov, pretože máš veľmi zaujímavý content, dosť rôznorodý a ešte k tomu všetkému to máš po anglicky, čiže je to obrovské plus. As you spoke Tagalog, I found it really interesting how I heard the words which remind me of Spanish. Moreover, your accent sometimes seemed to me to sound like Russian a bit, but I am not sure if this was only my feeling or it is really influenced by it, too. I would never believe that Asian language would inspire so heavily by European languages :D

haha yes I heard lots of time that my accent sounds Russian, but I don't know, I can't tell. Filipino language is heavily influenced by Spanish so that's why you hear some similarities 😉

Any hiking suggestions in the PH? I did Batad terraces for 2 days and Taal volcano. How about Mayon volcano? Have you been there? I like pictures of it and if I am not mistaken it is also on one of your bank notes?

I dont think they allow people to hike it. Its an active volcano, can errupt anytime 🤣 Try pinatubo though, or Guiting Guiting for some challenging hike 😉

A technique I'm using these days to try to get used to the Slovak language is to watch their news, I am yet to properly learn Slovak, but I think it's a good start to get used to the language itself through various media. KZbin videos, streamers, movies and so on can always work too I am sure! About the citizenship, I remember reading that if you were to get the Slovak citizenship while being a citizen from another country, you wont lose your original citizenship. What is going on is that if someone of Slovak citizenship gets another citizenship, then yes, they lose their Slovak citizenship. If I am wrong, please feel free to correct me, but I do remember reading that on the official websites :)

Yea I watch news in the TV as well, just to listen to pronunciation and maybe I will be able to pick up some words. As to citizenship, I am not sure. All I know right now is that dual citizenship does not apply in Slovakia. I think there use to before but not anymore. 🤷‍♀️

Maybe a little recommendation for you: try to do something with your audio, because it´s very quiet. I have to turn the volume on full to hear and understand you.

I just stumbled on this video, pretty cute and well done :) Just wanted to make sure you are aware, Slovakia does offer dual citizenship...but it really depends on Phillipines rather than Slovakia as your native country passport and from what I've found Phillipines may not allow it?? Is that correct? I think in my case, yes, I can have dual citizenship. Philippines will allow it as i am borm in there as you already said. But I dont have experience with it yet and not even sure if I was a dual citizenship 😂

Congrats for 10K subs :-) Btw, about that age (i hope is not rude), but friend of mine from philippino told me, here in slovakia and czech we have womans that looks older :-D and philippino womans looks very young... not only womans. He was 29 years old and looks like 22 or less. So yes, u look young, but u have probably 28 or even more :-D Oh i dont forget visit caves (we have many beautiful caves here), but warning - there is a really cold even in summer :-D

25:28 I think that double citizenship is possible without loosing your existing one (check in detal though). As far as I know its possible get Slovak citizenship if you have already different one, but not vice versa. This means getting second citizenship if you have slovak citizenship only. For example I heard that Slovaks working in UK have to do it like getting British citizenship with loosing slovak citizenship. And then request slovak citizenship again (because of some rules allowing them to demand again). Simply bureaucracy mess :D

Ask Google about "dvojité občianstvo" :-) It should be possible for Slovaks who live in another country to get citizenship of that country and not losing slovak citizenship. So in theory yes. But just wait little more. Few days ago they say in news that government want to bring back the double citizenship, because it is stupid that people need to choose how they feel more like, as Slovaks or not. Good luck (and stay healthy) in this difficult times.
