This is by far the best priest interview I have evet watched. The questions are on point on the most controversial, deep and real question our community have. I really appreciate it.

He was so natural speaking to the camera for someone who has never done this before! Loved this video. Maybe you can convince Father Tran to make reoccurring visits on your channel every once in a while!

Awesome video! Great to see a Vietnamese priest! It is true that during the sign of peace we bow down. Everyone in Ohio bow downs to God first, and then we shake hands. Guess we do things differently than in Vietnam.

Good video. On the priestly marriage thing, especially to prevent deviancy. Is it out of line to say that, many of the priests engaged in deviancy or outright abuse are, shall we say, not the kind of people who would marry women anyway? How would ending priestly celibacy do anything to remedy this? And, since it wouldn't, do we go even further and say that that inclination is no longer sinful, and should they also be allowed to marry? Gay married priests? Could you imagine? God forbid.

great interview! thanks Melissa!! Fr. Tran says he'd help Muslims become better Muslims on campus.. I'm fine with that b/c campus ministry is very diverse.. Ok, i'm not giving Father a hard time.. just sharing a few thoughts from Fr. William Kurz : ** It seems unfaithful to the truth and uncharitable for Christians to say, "I don't tell Muslims about Jesus. I help them to be better Muslims." What do WE as Christians know about helping Muslims (or others of different religions) be better Muslims? Rather, we must say with Peter's offer: "What I do have I give you" (Acts 3:6). What we have is the good news that God became man in Jesus to save all people: "With your blood you purchased for God those from every tribe and tongue, people and nation" (Rev 5:9). Authentic missionary witness lovingly and noncoercively shares with others what we most value, regardless of whether some listeners will be annoyed by our message or even try to suppress it.** - Fr. William Kurz

Do you feel our Cross should ever be walked on? I am living in a home from 1923 and whomever built it, added a Cross in the front porch floor. It is a mosaic in which all people who walk in the portal are forced to step on it. I feel this is not correct! I a sound Christian Woman. I was saved by Billy Graham when I was 9 years old.

This was so interesting but also super concerning to see. Two young people who believe all of this stuff. Does this actually make you happy? Having to do things you are told because you are afraid of eternal damnation. I can't understand why you would want this. Please explain to me.
@MelissaGraceTablada4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question & concern. At different times in my life, I have lived according to whatever I wanted to do (without faith/religion), and then lived according to what God calls us to. I can tell you that without question, I am happier, more joyful & fulfilled after having decided to live according to scripture, Church teaching & God. It makes me happy to the depths of my soul in a way that I never have experienced elsewhere. I don't do things because I am afraid of eternal damnation. I do things for love of God and His people and with the hope of Heaven. I live in response to the love and mercy that I've received from God that has given me purpose and joy. I choose to live this way, as a Catholic, because I am fully convinced that it is the truth and that it is the best way to live.

@@MelissaGraceTablada Thank you for your answer. It's good to hear you are happy with your religion but I still can't help but feel a little disturbed by the conviction and certainty you have that what you believe is actually the truth while, by definition, no evidence exists. What makes you so sure that what you believe is true? Another question is whether or not you feel strange being around and interacting with people who do not believe in a god or believe in a different god knowing that they will end up in hell for all eternity. Doesn't that make you want to save them from that faith worse then death?
