Dang Alan, thanks for this video. One thing I already knew is that you could step into my operation and you'd be right at "home". I get your operation so well. It is so similar. When I took over for Dad he was teaching school and my Mom is an RN. She put stitches in my hand at the kitchen table. I love your channel because of how well it relates to me and my operation. Thanks again.

I like how brutally honest you are to every question asked. You stated that the KZbin you do is a help in bringing in income. Many farms who have a KZbin production try to downplay or won't even mention it as helping with the income. the fact you folks are open and never brag or "beat around the bush" is a big reason you have so many subscribers who enjoy watching.

Why so you want to expose your family to government agencies and people that think it is their businesses to be in yours it only takes one to cause a lot of trouble

The disconnect between farmers and consumers has caused far too much trouble already. We're being proactive and explaining how farming works so that consumers understand where their food comes from.

Living the dream I had but, the opportunity just never presented itself. Farmers in CT were able to sell land to realtors for a much higher price than selling as a working farm. Your ability to work on old iron gives you an edge not having to doll out big money for newer equipment. God bless you and your family. The kids seem to love the farm and hopefully with God's help the farm will stay in operation for a few more generations.🇺🇸🐄🚒🚑

I'm unsubscribing you!! ( just kidding)I ran a lot of good tractors! JD, Farmalls, olivers, Allis Chalmers, Masseys! That's it, keep it basic, whatever works for you !He's a IH man, so it wasn't the JD he was interested in!! My wife was a Pastor's daughter, she became a good farm wife, she was my right hand Lady! Love it!!

Enjoyed your story very much, and had to smile at how much your experience has been to my own. We started on a farm of 64 acres and rented extra crop land, and had 12 cows our first year (1981), and got to 30 by year 5. My wife didn’t grow up on a farm either . We have never gone to TMR , and have fed the same way you do. Your videos are a lot of fun to watch, and I like your attitude towards dairying and farming, and life .

Awesome video with great answers. I haul cattle occasionally for local folks to the Miltona locker, and to Long Prairie packing plant I live about 30 miles from long prairie. Great advice on being financially strict, staying within your means. Older equipment is not bad, it often has a better return on investment. Loans kill family farms.

I like how you know that older equipment does the same job as the new fancy expensive ones, we have some New Idea equipment here also, including a uni system like yours only a bit older, it is a bear to change from silage chopper to corn picker so we bought a New Holland silage chopper, I haven't seen a New Idea Square baler before I saw yours and was impressed on how quiet and smooth it operates, it didn't seem to have that familiar baler surge as many other balers have, love your videos and I'm glad to hear your weight has improved, that says you're doing something right, God bless you and your family
