Nice to see and hear about Brock and his mission! 👏😊 That is imoressive about your companion who learned Portuguese in two months. He had the Gift of Tongues, for sure! You totally have the basics, Brock and can continue learning over your lifetime. You may have the opportunity again in your life to learn more Portuguese. Don't count yourself out! I learned a foreign language by submersion, but having learned the basics before that really helped me. Someday you may still find the opportunity to use what you have learned and to build on it. The Lord doesnt give us these skills without giving us a way to use them 😊👏 Just be ready! (You can do that by taking language classes in college, or by private teacher. There are so many people advertising to help with German grammer etc, I bet you could find the same with Portuguese! Keep your eyes open for ways to learn it and become more proficient. You will find a way.)

I live in british Columbia, Canada. I used to have 2 missionary guys always stop by my house, and we would always chat. At first, it was weird, but then as time went on, if i didn't see them, it was odd. Im not LDS, but i seem to watch a lot of mormon families. Love your family❤❤

Something that helped me a ton when I was on my mission and missing home, was to study the book of Mormon with an emphasis on the Atonement.

Got one more place that I can’t believe I forgot to mention: Cabot’s Ice cream (Newtonville, MA) this place is near where I grew up and is like an old school diner and ice cream shop. All day breakfast (which is superb). The ice cream is out of this world delicious (and homemade)!! A must visit if Brock happens to go through Newton, MA!

I live an hour from Boston. Brock has to go to a place called Quincy Market. It’s so cool! Great food! He can also hike The Freedom Trail. You can stand in the spot of the Boston Massacre. Which is sad but it’s part of history. We know how he wants to learn the history 🤣🤣
