Just swapped my Concept 20’s out for a set of these in white. Concept 20’s are amazing but now don’t provide enough base, tone or warmth for my ageing ears. Used them for years but as you get older your hearing does change. With that I picked up a set of these in the sales for £239. I have the 3050i on my main system in the living room. They run off a Yamaha RN803D and the sound is utterly amazing. These are for my second system where I actually do most of my listening in the kitchen come snug and run off a Yamaha RN602D. Right out the box they sound amazing. Sitting on a set of decoupling pads, a tweet down of the base and a tweet up of the treble and they are as precise as the Concept 20’s but with way more bass, warmth and richness. The bass is punchy and precise on base heavy tracks, the mids are gorgeous and rich and the high are angelic. These will just get better as they bed in, and they also look stunning as well👍.

I've had these speakers for over a year and love them to pieces. The odd two screw holes are for the matching stands, which DO help the sound. The stands are designed for the speakers and are just a fabulous addition. Like you, I'm kinda ga-ga over Q Acoustics design approach. And they pair quite nicely with my Bluesound Powernode. I do NOT have "golden ears" at age 60, but I'm a former classical musician, so I can be picky. These work across genres of music. They've been a terrific addition to my life.

@@0102studio I can highly recommend the stands. The did improve the sound, slightly. Nothing drastic, but enough that this hearing aided person could tell.

I agree. The stands are great. They’re a must have for the 3030i’s. I just wish they weren’t so pricey, but they are worth it.

The screw holes on the underside aren't for wall mounting, they're for the dedicated stands that Q Acoustics offer.

I'm not into forward (in your face)sounding speakers. So i bought a year ago Q 3030i with Yamaha a-s 501.I was very worry maybe the sound turn out to be too bright for me.Ηappily the sound is laid back.The highs are crystal but not offencive,the mids are warm and revealingly and the bass deep and strong (in my room).In some movies bass gets very low frequencies like a subwoofer!The whole room is shaking!!So i don't have to spend more money for a subwoofer. Like i said i was worry about the synergy between them but Yamaha A-S 501 proved to be a true gem.Far better speakers than wrfs 12.2.

Every bookshelf can use the help of a sub, though you can get away without one most of the time.

which budget receiver would you recomend for 3030i? I have now Pioneer VSX D710s from 2004 model, it was 50€ used. Sound is good, but im curious if i can improve it in any way ? I want to add sub, are there any good new or used receivers for 200€ budget? Is it imprortant to have 70-80W or more of power in 8Ohm like those speakers are rated and recomended?

Sky is the limit really. Generally the more you spend, and more power you have at your disposal the better the sound. That being said, I downsized from a Marantz to a cheap Sony STR 790 and aside from the noticably smaller scale in sound, Its great, and my ears have adjusted to the scale and sound.

They actually measure in room down to about 32hz

If they sound the same to you regardless of your position then you are missing out a lot from these speakers.
