I got rid of my Revel F228Be Speakers and got the Concept 500s. I absolutely love these speakers! Plus they are thousands less!

That's really good to know.I was eyeing the Revel F226Be or the 228Be. What are you powering them with? Preamp? Amp? Thanks!

I love you lawrence mittker. Never change. Although i do miss seeing you read off the prompter.

And one good reason against... They need really good electronics to shine... Minimum Cambridge Edge pre/poweramp, Rotel Michi poweramps, Musical Fidelity M8 just for example...

They are beautiful and i'm sure are quite a step up from my 3050i towers but $$ too rich for my blood. Very happy with the 3050i here.

Yeah it's a lot of money. Or you could buy second hand flagship speakers. I bought speakers that are similar in piece to the concept 500 for about the same price as the 3050i, because they were second hand

@@billybobby7607 I guess used could be good. I've sold a few pieces but never bought... Then again I also rarely buy. The 3050i were my first speaker purchase since 1992 to replace Bose 601 iii that I didn't know were crap for 27 years and just kept moving them to each home and using them as part of a 5.1

@@Selene_M3 generally if they're been looked after and not stupidly old they'll be fine. I've bought flagship speakers for mid range prices probably saved £10,000 on 5.0 system.

Can the speakers be placed on the floor without the circular base?
@redleather1003 жыл бұрын
Yes the spikes can be removed .
@elthamlad4683 жыл бұрын
I would not recommend it. The base gives the speaker stability. Without that it is a heavy speaker at over 40kg each and would be unstable. The base makes moving the heavy speaker surprisingly easy.

I still don't like the fact that the biggest radiator is only 6.5" These cost 6500 USD and your still going to have to use a high end sub for the lows. I believe these will only play down to 40 hz. They should have at least one 8 inch driver along with the 6.5's at this price point. So much engineering these days so they can use the smallest of drivers. But at this price point these should be able to hold their own as a stand alone 2 channel system. Its why klipsch still makes their legacy line of speakers. Because to those that know, there is no substitute for something that has a large bass radiator. And for not allot more, one could upgrade to something like that.

well then you wiil very disappointed to see that the following also only have 6.5" drivers and are much more expensive than the Q Acoustics. Yet QA is creating a cabinet so inert that it competes with the speakers at double its price. Paradigm Person B (A bookshelf speaker pair for $7000) Paradigm Persona 3F B&W 804 D4 B&W 803 D4 KEF Reference 1 (bookshelf with 6.5" driver) $8000 pair KEF Reference 3 (Tower with two 6.5" drivers, $15,000) Focal Sopra No. 1 ($11,000 bookshelves) Focal Sopra No. 2 (7" drivers but MSRP is $22,000) and I can name many more brands that charge 5 figures for speakers with same specs as QA but QA is trying to provide that 5 figure performance in a 4 figure speaker.

I have them as my main system and never used my Kef sub...

Nice speaker and then you have to modify sound with a foam sponge ? Oh well

Bungs offer more options, what’s wrong with that?

Son unos altavoces preciosos pero demasiado caros, he leído por ahi que ofrecen un sonido demasiado apagado, y no sé hasta qué punto se diferenciarán de mis 3050.
