Hi my name is Bun. I usually take bass lessons at the studio "secret base" in Okayama Japan. 〜how great Ka-yu is〜 First of all, I think the Kayu baseline that is Guitar-like approach is amazing. I think this A guitar-like bass line is Taiji Sawada was the founder, and It was deepened by L'Arc Tetsuya Previously introduced on this channel and Kayu Previously introduced on this channel The history of Japanese rock is Divided Before Taiji Sawada, after Taiji Sawada One of the grounds for this is a phrase side like playing a guitar solo On the other hand, X where Taiji Sawada is Hard Rock There are many musical restrictions, In terms of rhythm and phrases Especially as a bassist On the other hand, What is the difference between X and Jeanne d'Arc, it ends up in the tune Simply put The original visual kei is a minor and intense tune, And neo-visual A bright major and pop song, Pop music is better Rhythmically and phrase-wise Because there are few musical conventions and restrictions It gives you more possibilities and options for your approach to bassists. so there is freedom in music we can approach more things With a guitar-like bass line that means Deepened Taiji style You can see that well It ’s a song called Heaven. For example, the chorus of this song The scale of the baseline is raised and lowered a little After all, in terms of phrase-like impact Guitars and drums are better Highly appealing, Easy to stay in your ears On the other hand When we go to the last chorus, Suddenly a bassline starts like a song melody how Can he think of the bassline like a guitar solo One of them Kayu can also play the guitar In the first place, There are two main benefits of playing the guitar Rich sense of harmony easy to train Inner hearing Harmony sense Generally we play the bass with one stroke one note On the other hand, the guitar Makes multiple sounds with one stroke. The guitar is an instrument that plays the harmony of chords You can know more in detail About the width of the scale that can be moved up and down 〜 about Inner hearing Where to press on the instrument What kind of scale sounds Even if you don't actually play the instrument you Can ring in your head. While playing a phrase, at the same time with a humming You can sing the same melody A humming song or The song melody heard in the city You will be able to make a sheet music in your head This inner hearing is Of course, it is possible to use the bass alone but From a beginner's point of view I think the guitar is easier to play. Because Guitar phrases are Easier to stay in your ears than bass. 〜 From here on, it ’s my delusion. I think Kayu thanks To a member of Jeanne d'Arc Because The baseline that deviates from its original role is If you can't balance Leading the group to bankruptcy For example soccer Originally, a person who has the role of balancing defense and attack When you push the striker away and sit on the front line Once the balance is lost The defense collapses at once Kayu Sometimes and in some cases Just run up in front of the goal and is shooting The reason why the defense does not collapse here is Because there is support around For example, shuji on drums he is very good drummer But if the drummer is not good, Bass should be rhythmic then he can't run up to the front also "You" on the guitar When the bass runs up to the front, He Gently go down Guarantee the part of the sound pressure that the bass should originally produce that is why Even if the bass is in the treble The ensemble is not squishy Kiyo on the keyboard gives out chords Comprehensively so thd feeling of code is thrilling By running up the bass to the front, The harmony of the whole band stable And above all, vocalist yasu is the most important Because If a person with low singing ability sings that baseline is hard to sing, it's like while the center forward yasu aiming for a shot the deffender kayu Run up to the front line For the motion of bicycle shoot then Both shoots Ends with a miss it means Both the song and the bass Will end Without impressing the customers But when I actually listen to Heaven, yasu's pitch is solid Because the singing ability is outstanding The bass can attack the edge of vocals No matter how much you can use the base Without losing its presence at all Vocal Rather can increase its presence Only with vocal skills on That baseline 〜 if you can pay attention to the bassist there are Other members who firmly solidify the surroundings On the other hand Usually vocals and guitar stand out But if bass is not good, I can't listen to the song it means if you feel vocals and guitars look cool there is a stable bassist. and if Someone is cool there is someone else so we Need a sense of balance like Music is a division of labor Be sure to support each other . so Jeanne d'Arc is "Heretic" that deviated from the conventional wisdom of japanese visual music. this program is brought to you by Bun at the "secret bass" from japan.

FOR THAT REASON, KAYU IS MY FAVOURITE BASS PLAYER EVER, AND I LEARN TO PLAY LIKE HIM.... I REALLY LIKE NATCHIN FROM SIAM SHADE AND TAIJI FROM X TOO, BUT I PREFER KAYU ¡¡¡
