So is the HUXWURX Flow a bad suppressor since it’s 3D printed?
@MrCashewkitty14 күн бұрын
Not because its 3d printed. Because its flow through. Depends on what you want. Flow through is louder down range, flash more, heat up faster, stay hot longer, and absolutely glow under nods and thermals
@dylanwatson846813 күн бұрын
I think the biggest problem q has with the hux is printing the whole can and not just the baffles. Makes it a lot more expensive and not better in anyway. Flow through is another topic but generally unless you’re an agency where you’re not tuning a gun for it and shoot a lot where health is a concern, a standard can will do generally do the flash and sound suppression better. I believe q new 556 is a printed core that’s a little flow through but not as much as others to keep flash and sound down. I only worry about titanium baffles like to spark.
@900Redshark12 күн бұрын
So I’m assuming if you don’t want to eat gas get the HUX or don’t want to tune your gun? But a standard can eat more gas and probably have to tune the gun?
@MrCashewkitty12 күн бұрын
@900Redshark just depends on the gun really. Never touched a thing on my Super Duty. Other guns have adjustable gas blocks or BCGs.

Question that has nothing to do with this video: What happens when you rifle a 12 gauge slug with a 1:3-6 twist rate? Does it hold together? Does it stabilize and improve accuracy? Is it too powerful a round for the slug to twist that fast? What about mini slugs?
@kirkmartin222315 күн бұрын
Look up how to calculate a bullets RPM. Muzzle velocity x 720 / barrel twist rate = bullet rpm Typical lead core bullets start spinning apart around 300k rpm. A lead slug will spin apart and a much lower RPM than your average copper jacketed bullet.
@IvIidnight15 күн бұрын
@kirkmartin2223 Okay...so what if you heat treat the lead? Probably not...going to need a different material...I'm going to go ask KnifeSteelNerds if he knows of a steel that isn't super rare or expensive that can withstand the RPMs...

@grnsouth12042 күн бұрын
@@IvIidnightsolid copper slug. No need for steel, though any steel would survive it. The issue with normal bullets isn't the lead coming apart, it's the jacket separating from the lead core due to the high centrifugal forces. Solid lead would likely survive just fine as well.
@MrCashewkitty14 күн бұрын
Do tubeless heat up faster though? Flow throughs absolutely suck for nods and thermal use. Would tubeless be the same?

Aren't all silencers basically tubes with baffles??
@code_red774417 күн бұрын
Tubeless means the baffles are stacked together and welded one by one forming the walls of the suppressor. Before KB it was a tube acting as a sleeve with the baffles stacked inside. You lose a lot of volume with the latter…

I don't mind the names. I stopped buying their suppressors when they tool away the suppressor mounts from the whole package. The cherry bombs made them both a great system and a great deal. Then, they stopped the PVD coating and started selling flip flops, and that was pretty much it for me.

4+ minutes of talking about a tube with baffles and calling it tubeless... I'm still lost.
@LAWLESSXX8817 күн бұрын
I'm assuming it's a welded baffle stack without an outer tube. Instead of a monocore in a tube or a baffle stack that slides into a tube( each baffle not welded to each other), now the tubed suppressors are usually easier to maintain, clean and take down. I do like the added volume without making a bigger can on the tubeless design.

Has anyone had an end cap strike with a CGS or CAT 3d printed can? Do you have to pay for a new can basically if that happens? Just curious.....
@chasejohnson112217 күн бұрын
CAT is pretty clear about their warranty, they aint gonna replace your shit. Idk about cgs. But neither can be easily repaired, downside of 3d printing
@brent9288817 күн бұрын
They can repair 3D printed cans. The serialized part is right by the threads. They just chop it off and print on a new section. That said, my Alleycat is awesome. It sounds like a Polonium but with way less backpressure. No issues with alignment or strikes. Would highly recommend one, they are spendy and more difficult to find in stock. But they are worth it.
@christopherbelveal448316 күн бұрын
B&T they stand by there 3d products
@mattself607813 күн бұрын
@brent92888 are you sure? I've never got into 3d printing, but isn't it one peice and can't be printed on a new substrate? So if you put a hole in your can, you can't repair it? I may be wrong, but just overheard that 3d cans can't be repaired so your sol if you get a baffle strike.
@brent9288813 күн бұрын
@mattself6078 Maybe it depends on the brand. 100% CGS and CAT silencers can be repaired. The serialized part is right next to the threads. If there is any damage they just chop it off and reprint the damaged portion back on top.
