Wait, let’s be clear on what you are complaining about. So, a few years ago crime - ALL crime started to increase in Seattle. So people whined oh boo hoo the poor criminals are actually just victims- don’t put them in jail for silly things like graffiti. So the politicians listened and didn’t jail criminals for crimes like graffiti. Now, tax paying citizens are tired of graffiti AND other crimes and they start arresting criminals for crimes and… you NOW complain about it AGAIN? And your reason for complaining the city is arresting people is because they didn’t arrest people “ years ago “? Seriously? So it doesn’t matter if they arrest people or don’t arrest people- you’ll complain… got it.

What are you blathering on like a 7th grader about? No one ever said or cares if the vandals are “ terrified “. They are being charged with felonies, they will be held financially responsible. Maybe the lowlife vandals will grow up while in jail- STOP acting like low IQ zoo animals that actually think they are “ cool “. No one gives a rip if they’re scared or not because the fact is… the felonies will ensure they never get a decent job or probably buy or even rent a home. No one cares what the criminals think or feel- they are boring garden variety losers.

@colleenwhitman904013 күн бұрын
You are incorrect. If they are under 18 their parents can be held financially responsible for any expenses or damages caused by their graffiti or vandalism. And they most definitely can be charged and put in juvenile detention- not sure if you comprehend that Washington juvenile detention centers are FULL? I’m not sure where you got the idea that people under 18 aren’t charged with crimes or sent to jail for committing crimes but I can assure you they most definitely ARE.
@ACE-sx8mo13 күн бұрын
@@colleenwhitman9040 Yes, in theory. BUT, if juvenile vandalism was managed seriously by SPD, and if parents were available and capable of financial responsibility, and if the graffiti vandals were sentenced to detention, this video clip would not have been made and we would not be having this conversation.

@colleenwhitman904013 күн бұрын
You’re not paying attention are you? That is relevant in some cases like illegals or drug trafficking but it means nothing in regards to the problem of graffiti, they said they can’t afford to pay for removal-so- no one’s making money. even if it’s structures, signage etc that is owned by the government. And maybe you missed the part where they said graffiti isn’t always being removed because they don’t have the money-so it just stays there. Look there isn’t some big “ cabal “ making money removing graffiti lmao! Otherwise why are they arresting the low IQ losers who are caught doing it? If it was some big conspiracy to get rich removing graffiti- they wouldn’t arrest people doing it lmao!

So according to you then… what? They shouldn’t do anything because they didn’t do anything before? You do realize that type of argument sounds rather childish right? It’s sounds almost as low IQ as people who are blubbering that since other crimes are being committed and gotten away with, police shouldn’t bother to go after vandals? It’s like they don’t comprehend that police don’t stop arresting drunk drivers because someone else committed assault or murder. It like the concept of how a civil society works and is maintained is beyond their intellect. Is it beyond yours too?

And for some reason you seem to think there’s some government office that oversees” murals and street art” , -NOPE. There’s government offices that would be involved in code enforcement etc But it’s private groups that fund murals and street art 99% to the time- NOT taxpayers. I’m a property owner, and it’s property taxes and business taxes that pay for most everything- are you so delusional you actually think taxpayers want to find absurd murals or @ street art “?
