Was really looking forward to your review of this aircraft. Great job as always! I was excited about this aircraft for XP-12, but after your review think I'm going to wait for the finished product. You are spot on about the price.

Thankyou for doing this review! I will definitely wait until this aircraft is more complete to purchase so I feel like Im getting my monies worth and not just buying into an alpha/beta release.
@x-aviation4 күн бұрын
It is definitely not an alpha or beta release. As you can see in the video, it performed without issue. While a performance calculator is coming and Q8 would have liked that, it's really not critical for this aircraft, unlike an airliner. It's basically very simple in that regard and almost always right around the same number like most GA aircraft.

I think TorqueSim have done a fantastic job so far on this aircraft and I am excited to get my hands on it. However, as a customer, when a product is released at this price point without complete documentation and key features missing such a failure system, planned systems that are currently inop and even a basic maintenance system, it does feel like we’re receiving a half-baked product. If you compare this release to other high quality offerings, there are many that are cheaper or around the same price that have a higher fidelity and subsequently offer a lot more value for money. I don’t think this add on is far off of expectations at all and once a few updates have passed and some of the planned features have been implemented I’m sure it’ll be good value for money considering the quality of the product.

@@PilotLH Oh, you're certainly welcome to your opinion. Voting with your wallet is the best way. I just wanted to shed a bit of additional light, as calling this beta/alpha/half baked is pretty extreme considering it's not some bug ridden experience. I'm glad you find other products that you feel provide you more value for money. On this side, these guys work hard, and we intend to keep them around rather than watch a continual exodus to MSFS. The market is not sustainable at lower prices for the amount of work these guys do (like 5 years on this one product). If you don't wish to support that hard work, that's definitely your prerogative.

@ I would also admit that ‘half-baked’ is a little extreme.. Id say it’s closer to 90% baked and for the majority its perfectly fine but I’m very picky and would rather wait for the upcoming features to come to fully enjoy the product. One of the products I’m referring to is the X-Crafts EJets which I had a similar opinion on when they were released without a handful of essential features. They are now one of my favourite to fly after I waited for the updates and got to experience the products in their intended form. As someone currently developing an X-Plane addon myself, I can definitely appreciate the time and work that goes into the products which is why I’m not opposed for paying top dollar for a high fidelity and complete product as I did with the Challenger 650, all X-Craft planes and the all the planes from Toliss as well as many others.

Go Q1! An interesting comparison to make would be with the AirSim3D C560XL. Arguably just as high definition if not more so, but at a more accessible price point? Please consider it!
@Q8Pilot3 күн бұрын
The AirSim3D is not a match for this Citation in my view. This one is much more polished and in depth. The philosophy of the AirSim3D is flawed and follows a scripted sequence which makes the experience highly unrealistic. The TorqueSim Citation is truly an amazing rendition but the price is just way too high. The AirSin3D is overpriced as well, it should be in the 30s range and TorqueSim in the 60s. Unfortunately both developers have to settle for the distributor final say on price as they get a cut from the sales and that just takes the price to unacceptable limits.

The X-Plane developers are the sole reason X-Plane has such a small user base. And I'm talking about the developers for X-Plane on the broad spectrum. If they ask for more competitive prices for their products more people will use X-Plane which is good for the sim and the developers in the long run. Right now X-Plane developers cater only for the hardcore die-hard X-Plane users and lock out the potential buyers with their asking prices. That excuse of "X-Plane is such a small nice market" doesn't sit with me. It is their own undoing.
