Hi - Interesting tutorial - but are their alternatives to using IntelliJ ? Don't like downloading 600mb of software from site that I don't know is secure and then requires a sub after 30 days ?

Hi 😀 for IntelliJ there are various versions. However the Community version is free. That's the one I use and it requires no payment. alternative you could use Eclipse, that is also free and quite good. I just prefer Intellij (Community version) as it's quite easy when it comes to downloading plugins and dependancies. which one do you have at the moment?

I'm currently a business analyst and am interested in becoming a tester. If I don't know how to code, would that impact my ability to progress a tester?

Hi 😀 first you would need to decide the type of tester you are aiming to be. Is it manual testing, web automation testing or mobile testing? Both web and mobile testing will require you to know at least some basic form of coding whether it be Java, Python, C# etc ....But you may not need to be a Java guru to become a tester, the basic understanding of it can get you far ***check out my latest video on " How to Learn Java in 14 Minutes" *** Depending on the company you go into as a Manual tester, you may get away with not having to code as there are tools such as Katalon that can help you screen record actions on a website. Then these actions are converted into code semi-automatically. Overall I would say if you decide to go into testing, put learning to code as one of your priorities, simply because companies of today require testers to have some basic knowledge in e.g Java and SQL.
