Jordan Kuhn Vegeta would've gone super saiyan 2 much later. Goku would still be alive and would go super saiyan 2 much later but would not be able to go super saiyan 3 since the stress on his living body would be too much to sustain the transformation first time (This is why Goku went super saiyan 3 in other world since he was dead). Android 16 would still be alive. Hercule would not be as popular for killing cell apparently. Gohan never would've gone super saiyan 2 as a teen. The majin buu saga would still happen. Gohan would have eventually learned super saiyan 2 after intense training with Goku and Goten. Goten would also have become super saiyan much quicker with Goku's presence. Gohan would've killed Dabura since he would've trained in the 7 year gap because of Goku. This means that Vegeta could've killed Babidi and Buu before he could've even hatched since barely any energy at all would be supplied to Buu for it to hatch.

I have a thought, it shouldn't change too much, but wouldn't Piccolo train intensely the whole time just because he would be the main protector of earth? Since Piccolo has been developing protective traits, especially towards Gohan it would make sense that he would not only take Gohan after Goku died, but also train intensely with Gohan the whole time. That makes me think that Gohan would grow stronger much faster then when Goku was around because he wouldn't let Chi-Chi get in the way. Also, you forgot Fortune Teller Baba's ability to bring people back from the dead for a day. How would that factor into it? Could that be used to bring a Namakian back to Teach Piccolo how to make new dragon balls for sure?

Piccolo knows how to create Dragon balls, Kami already made them and after fusing with Kami they became a new being with both Kami and Piccolo memories as shown when he talked to Popo as an old friend and still knew things Piccolo knew. In fact, since Piccolo would be stronger than Guru, Kami, and Dende; his dragon balls should be much stronger than there's and being able to not only have 2 wishes but being able to bring people who died before isn't out of the from of possibilities. A hard point to beat is that earth dragon balls can't even revive the Namekis since they all were already wished back but reviving Guru is a maybe since he did die but was revived indirectly from a wish.

Good video--well thought out and informative! I've always been a sucker for these "What if?" scenarios. I'd like to try to think of some, although I wouldn't be surprised if others had asked or tackled these questions before. 1. What if King Vegeta had become a Super Saiyain (prior to his planet being destroyed by Freeza)? 2. What if Nappa had killed Gohan before Goku arrived? 3. What if Cell had simply eliminated the Z-Fighters upon reaching perfection (no Cell Games)? 4. What if Goku's mind-altering injury as a baby did not happen? Or, conversely, what if it had been fatal? 5. What if Goku had been given a senzu bean directly after his first fight with Vegeta, instead of convalescing in the hospital for weeks? 6. What if Goku had survived the battle with Radditz and Piccolo had died, instead of the other way around? 7. What if Dr. Briefs, and not Dr. Gero, was recruited by the Red Ribbon Army? The answers to a few of these kind of jump out at me (In #6, for instance, it would probably mean the Saiyans wouldn't have come to Earth, making what happens between then and the arrival of the Androids/Cell paramount), but I'd like to hear the opinions of the experts as well!

Kami as the good half was the one who was allowed to take the job and King Piccolo as the evil half got pissed and became jealous so he just decided to take the world by force. Now that the complete Piccolo, as the Nameless Namekian originally wanted, is the Guardian his goal is achieved.

I always find myself intensely interested in these what if scenarios since it makes the story unfolding in circumstances we're not used to thinking about, as if the story was progressing the wrong way and the Z fighters were just surviving through the most miniscule of hopes for their abilities to survive each threat that comes. It's like the past and future connecting together, with the past having a dangerous cloud over their heads at all times simply because it meant their doom being written down the moment things didn't turn out the way it was supposed to. How small a change and such great an impact. Listening to your story, I (as always) was desperately hoping beyond hope that the Z fighters would survive and yet....it couldn't be so. It's always the Buu saga that breaks the backs of everyone and it irritates me each and every time.....makes me sad actually when I hear it. Fantastic video and I've got another one for you. Do: What if Cell became a good guy? Just a thought for talk really. Or how would Gohan dealing with the Majin Vegeta saga with Goku dead would work?

Goku would see everybody dead and go SSJ, kill Frieza, and die from the heart virus. With Trunks never existing, Bulma would need to go back in time and save Goku. With only Chi-Chi occupying his time, Goku would have a high amount time to train but since Android 19 appeared the day Goku got the heart attack and there would be no Vegeta to save the day. Goku would die and since he would have no need to awaken 17 and 18, Dr.Gero would take over earth and most likely stop Cell's development.

Actually, I think Kami and Piccolo would have only fused as a last resort; Like, Everyone is dead and King Cold is about to blow the planet up. I think Goku would have gone Super Saiyan during THAT fight, and ultimately overpowered Cold. After that, he would have died from the heart virus, and we would have spiraled down into bad end.

Small thing to add... when future Trunks fight the androids in the main timeline, he said that the androids from his timeline were quite weaker... After the discovery of the time machine and cell's cocoon they made the hypothesis that the coming of cell in the past changed the events and made the androids way stronger. So after the fusion with Kami, Piccolo would most probably have been able to beat the androids without the need of training in the hyperbolic time chamber

No clue it's very assumption based but it would be impossible to gain a super saiyan god unless tarble or an unknown saiyan arrived. 4. hmm, I doubt goku would allow vegeta and nappa to stay alive because if vegeta goes great ape so would Nappa I hope I helped.

Awesome video. One other option could have been, that the Z fighters gathered the dragon balls after hearing the new from King Kai, and used them to ressurect the people on Planet Namek (or just simply revived the people who were killed by King Cold), as a plan B, so if they had to refuse, they had still dragon balls and if something would have happen, they could ask King Kai to ask the Namekians to ressurect people on Earth (or send Dende as Kami).

TIMELINE 1 Corrections: 4:44 - I believe the new Grand Elder & Dende at least & maybe some other Namekians would escape onto a space ship just before Namek blew up & they would head straight for Earth. I say this because it originally took at least an hour for Namek to blow up once Frieza destroyed the core. Also, Frieza did mention to Goku that Goku could've escaped undetected during the struggle rather then continue to fight but Goku no don't refused cause he wasn't afraid. This implies that some Namekians could escape King Cold's Wrath! If they did then King Cold would not be delayed in his arrival on Earth if he had detected the escapees. Even though he could destroy them in space, he would decide to pursue them & he would discover Earth that way. King Kai would still inform the Z-Fighters about King Cold's approach but I believe King Cold would show up sooner then he originally did if he pursued the New Grand Elder in space. This would put an even further strain on the Z-fighters since King Cold would be showing up faster then expected, I would say AGE 764 but 1 month later since the Namekian Star Cruiser would take 1 month to travel from Namek to Earth. So far everything else you said checks out until 7:14. Why? Because they would be able to restore the Dragon Balls in Timeline 1 since Dende & the New Grand Elder fled to Earth with their Dragon Balls. Dende would revitalise the Earth Dragon Balls & become Earth's new guardian! Namek would be restored & the dead Namekians revived due to Porunga being alive. Everything pretty much checks out exactly how you said it would after that up till the Buu Saga. Babidi & his henchmen would still come to Earth because Buu's cocoon was on the planet & they needed to collect him before unleashing him. They would use the Tournament as a way to gather energy just like in the original series but this time it's Piccolo that would be impaled rather than Gohan because Gohan would've only been a SS1 & much weaker & Piccolo was the 1 who killed both Androids 17 & 18! Gohan might've helped but then again Chi-Chi might prevent him from fighting/training & Piccolo wouldn't need him anyway. Gohan would be a fighter in the Buu Saga though because of the Tournament. So Gohan, Krillin, Tien & Chaotsu would follow Kabito to Babidi's ship while Piccolo & Kaioshin are close behind. Yes, it was Kaioshin that stayed & healed Piccolo rather than Kabito since Piccolo fought Kaioshin in the Tournament. Nobody would've cared much if Piccolo was stabbed instead of Gohan so nobody would try to rush out to save him. Videl would win the Tournament for the record. Dabura would turn Krillin & someone other than Piccolo to stone. I would guess Chaotsu since he would be worthless anyway. Who fights against Pui-Pui? I would say Tien because he was the weakest of the 3 Z-Fighters who went inside. Tien would win though & then they fight Yakon, this time it's Gohan's turn because we know he wouldn't stand a chance against Dabura. He kills Yakon in the same way Goku did & then we cut to the fight with Dabura. Piccolo would take him on since he's the strongest of the 3 & cause he hates Dabura the most! He would win unless Babidi detected the former evil inside him & turned him into Majin Piccolo! Tien would fight Majin Piccolo due to them being at odds in Dragon Ball. This leaves Gohan with Kaioshin to fight Babidi & Dabura! In either divergence, both Babidi & Dabura are killed by Piccolo in the 1st & Kaioshin in the 2nd. Buu would never hatch & his cocoon would be captured by the Kais. Then we go to either Super Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball GT! Super Dragon Ball: Starting with Battle of Gods, Beerus would awaken only to discover Goku & Vegeta are dead & the only Saiyan left is Gohan. He would fall under the belief that Gohan would be the Super Saiyan God that he dreamed of & would challenge Gohan. But let's say Yamcha persuaded him (due to King Kai warning him of Beerus since Yamcha would marry Bulma since Vegeta is dead) to kick back & enjoy the Bulma's party. Since Majin Buu doesn't exist, Beerus wouldn't destroy the Earth but wouldn't be friends with the Z-Fighters either for boring him. Frieza's Resurrection would still happen but unless Piccolo & Gohan got much stronger, the Earth is doomed! Frieza would be disappointed to find out that Goku & Vegeta are dead already & would then exact his revenge mainly on Gohan for being a Super Saiyan, the last of them all in fact besides Pan. It wouldn't matter if Beerus showed up & saved the remaining Z-Fighters from Earth's destruction since they wouldn't be able to stop frieza anyway! If they did then I don't know what happens next since I didn't watch the show yet. Dragon Ball GT: I doubt the Z-fighters would go into space to collect the Black Star Dragon Balls since the negative energy wouldn't be enough to unleash the Shadow Dragons since the Red Star Balls were used less. Even if they still went into space, who would go after the Balls with Pan? Not Trunks since he wouldn't be a saiyan while Goku is still dead & Piccolo or Tien might not be interested. Gohan would be too busy & weak & so the only person I could think of is Krillin except he's too old. Not to mention, Pilaf wouldn't screw up his wish with Black Star Balls since Goku is dead. I didn't really watch the show because I gave up on it when it was new. So if Piccolo beat the Androids originally, then either Earth is destroyed or there is World Peace in the end depending on which show happened but since we know GT is non-canon, then Earth is screwed big time! But Let's Assume Piccolo fought & died against the Androids, This would mean Krillan or Yamcha would fight next since Krillan was the 1st Z-fighter to fight them after Piccolo & Vegeta in GFT but Yamcha was the 1st after Piccolo & Vegeta in the HOT movie. Also, Yamcha was the 1st to find the Androids in Timelines 2 & 4 in the original anime/manga & nearly died because of it! So my guess is that Yamcha fought them 1st after Piccolo's death in this alternate Timeline 1 & he ended up dead! But it doesn't matter which of the 2 fights 1st for they'll both die. The question is, who fought next? I would say Tien would because he fought right after Yamcha in the HOT special even though he fought before Yamcha in GFT. He would die also along with Chaotsu & then Krillin would finally meet his end along with Yadrobi. So Gohan would go back to the past in the time machine! TIMELINE 2: Future Gohan would travel to the unseen timeline all the way to the point King Cold arrived on Earth! His presence would prevent Piccolo from fusing with Kami & thus Future Gohan either killed King Cold by himself or with help from Goku & Piccolo. Let's say he did it with their help & so Goku would turn Super Saiyan in the fight with King Cold & so Future Gohan wouldn't have to teach him to become a Super Saiyan. Future Gohan would give Goku the medicine & then returns to the future. The 3 year gap expires & the Z-Fighters come across Androids 19 & 20. Future Gohan would show up & save Goku from Android 19, Android 19 would die easily & then Piccolo would hunt down Android 20 for zapping him! Android 20 unleashes 16, 17 & 18 & is killed by them afterwards, the Z-Fighters then fight the 3 Androids but end up losing. They would then go to the hyperbolic time chamber & train there for 1 day, I would say Piccolo & Future Gohan would go in 1st & together for the record. The 2 of them would then exit & fight the 3 Androids while Krillin & Tien went in next. Piccolo would fight Android 17 while Future Gohan would fight Android 18 while Android 16 would just stand & watch. Both Androids would be destroyed & it's possible Android 16 might beg them to allow him to fight Goku once he healed from the Heart Virus, but I doubt they would spare him especially Future Gohan. So then once he recovers, Goku would take Kid Gohan into the Time Chamber to train! Future Gohan returns back to Timeline 1 & would destroy the Androids there. H would then plan a trip to Timeline 3 to prevent Gero from unleashing the Androids before they were finished being programmed. But Cell kills him & steals the machine & he goes to Timeline 3 instead. TIMELINE 3: Everything would happen exactly like it did in Timeline 1 excepting for Piccolo beating the Androids the 1st time of course. Only Future Cell makes a slight difference. According to Xenoverse, Future Cell was actually present at the 1st battle between the Androids & Future Trunks but watch from a distance. I would say he would interrupt a fight between Future Gohan & the Androids in an attempt to absorb them. He would absorb the Androids & become Perfect Cell but Future Gohan escapes. He then goes into the Time Machine & Time Travel to Timeline 4!

Sorry Qaaman but major plot hole in your theory. If King Kai warns the Z-fighters that King Cold is coming to Earth like you predicted, then it only makes sense that King Kai would have also notified them of Namek's destruction. Thus, it would be highly illogical if The Z-fighters did not bank on one last wish to revive the Nameks that were killed by King Cold before Piccolo choosing to fuse with Kami. This difference allows for Dende (Earth's Guardian after Piccolo fuses with Kami) to survive and also sustains the resource of Namek's Dragon Balls if needed.

I have one thing to say. What if he didn't kill vegeta because krillin and gohan talked him out of it? The reason why is because he saved their lives on multiple occasions and would say he changed. And what would happen then? Because piccolo wouldn't fuse with kami until after the fight with the androids or in the 3 year time span. And vegeta, goku, and gohan could eventually learn super saiyan because of the future timeline.

I personally think that since Piccolo is smart enough to know when he's outmatched that he would go after Babidi while asking the others to cover him. Babidi would be killed and Dabura would be free from the mind-control. It's a slim chance he would be able to reach Babidi either way. But with Dragon Ball Super stating that Future Trunks was able to beat Dabura with minimal help from Supreme Kai,I believe Gohan,if he was able to go Super Saiyan,would be able to hold his own against Dabura with the help of Krillin and the others. Also adding in if Piccolo was killed by Dabura Gohan would most likely go into rage and unlock his Super Saiyan 2 form due to his connection with Piccolo and I do think Gohan would be able to defeat him. (I would also add in Goku returning to Earth for the tournament and how he would assist in the fight but this has all ready become lengthy as it is.)

Really like your what if scenerio. Three things though bulma stated herself in history of trunks that if trunks didn't go in the past to save goku she would do it. So bulma for sure would have brought the vaccine and mentioned to the z warriors after king colds defeat. Also every chance since kami's fusion would result in the use of the hyperbolic time chanmber till no z warrior could use it again. ( I forget its number of uses per person, I think it was two times.) The third would be king kai watching planet namek and king cold, there is a chance that king kai would still pay attention to planet namek at least for a while, given what events have transpired. From that multiple possibilites arrive, 1. With a warning to guru or the next leader, they summon their dragon and wish goku 's group back to namek to fight king cold. Goku might go super saiyan in this fight as krillian could die. If pushed to this point kami could wish to be teleported to namek by his own dragon balls and fuses with piccolo to save his namekian brothers. And they take dende back to earth as a new guardian. 2. After learning of the most miraculous feat with piccolo defeating frieza, the fighting namekians all start fusing to power up to fight king cold. Rather if they fuse all the warriors, or warriors and non warriors for the power boost idk. 3. They use the dragon balls to teleport their own planet away making it impossible for king cold to ever find them, till some random rediscovers their planet. 4. Using the dragon ballz they wish king cold's ship into one of their three suns, a meteor shower etc... There are more paths and details i'd love to go through but I'll focuse on the entire point, king cold in most cases loses and namek survives thus dragon balls still exist. Also following the far future timeline where evil namekians started to live and attack earth, all the fusing with other namkians to defend themselves could result in their culture being changed. Example now making children just to keep fusing to get stronger, fusion abuse could make evil namekians. As for trunks not existing this only happens if this was the original timeline, and even then it could have still happened. The time machine runs on the multiverse theory, so when either bulma or trunks goes through time, it causes a shift in normal events, (like trunks finding the thrid andriod and the andriods being stronger.) Trunks stated he only chose to show up before king cold was because of goku not making it back to earth before king cold. If not for that he would have choose to meet goku in a more secluded time. It could be theorized that goku learning the teleport trick could have been because of history feeling the shockwave from the time machine. Trunks or bulma could give goku the heart disease vaccine and warning of future events and even compare the differences in their timelines comparably. If bulma had went in time to before goku went to namek, it could cause vegita to not die, if piccolo listened to bulmas or trunks words. ( Although this whole scenerio could have taken place this way because of the time machine effecting the timeline in different ways.) If b/t meet bomb before namek dr juroh ( not sure how you spell his name) would have heard this info and followed goku to outer space and prepared to deal with t/b in the future regarding the time machine. Cell could have frieza, ginyu force etc dna in himself as well. A time freezing cell with a last resort change now ability? That's scary. Well I hope you probe into these possibilities and remifications.

I like it! The only thing I would note, is that Dr. Gero probably altered his androids to be stronger in response to the Z fighters' rapid growth during that three year period. If they were not training to fight an enemy that they were consequently not warned about, it all depends how intense the fight was between piccolo and king cold. If it was over quickly, without piccolo revealing the extent of his power, I posit that the androids would be EVEN WEAKER; especially because Goku wouldn't have achieved super saiyan by the time the virus killed him (most likely, without a threat anyway)

If King Kai would bend the rules more often, he would've communicated with the Namekians either directly, or via Piccolo/Kami to telepathically contact them, and order them to use their Dragon Balls to wish all Namekians to Earth temporarily before King Cold arrived.

First off, Great Video! I love the what if appeal of these Dragonball videos, but being the DBZ nerd that I am, there's always something I feel I must ask. I think this scenario is really well thought out, but the only issue I have with this is the assumed Powerlevel of King Cold. People tend to play it as if King Cold's power is superior to Frieza or Cooler which (maybe I'm wrong) but there's no clear indication that Cold is that powerful. Being that Frieza was at the forefront of the Cold empire due to his ability to transform and multiply is base powerlevel, I assume Cold couldn't do so. Its even stated by Cooler (I know, its a movie and not canon) that Frieza was stronger than himself until he discovered the last transformation. So I assume that as a father he would pursue the Z fighters, but being that his power isn't as great as his youngest son (and add in the fact that he's acting out of revenge and anger) he would just do what he had suggested to Frieza and just blow up Earth from the space! Now lets say that King Kai somehow figured this out and warned the Z fighters.. The fight would take to the air (no quiet out of earth's atmosphere, being that the z fighter's cant breathe in outer space) and either they would try to destroy the ship before it got in close range or they'd wait and try to deflect the blast from King Cold, causing him to have to engage in actual melee. *Please respond and let me know what you think, if there's anything that i'm confused about please correct me. I have two interesting theories to add to this conversation. My first question is what if when Goku got the heart virus while the androids were attacking and he went to beat them and was killed during the fight. This could have given Gohan the motivation to ascend to Super Saiyan. Since the two timelines mentioned in DBZ are different from each other, in regards to the androids, I think it wouldn't be far fetched to think that this alternate timeline would also be different. My second question is what if future trunks did go back in time but not to warn the Z-fighters about the androids. Instead his travel back in time was to stop Piccolo from killing Vegeta. I do understand that Trunks traveling back in time to save his father would create a paradox, but when he originally went back in time in DBZ he ended up in a new timeline. So when Trunks travels backwards in this alternate timeline he would also end up in a different timeline. Instead of travels forwards or backwards in the same timeline via the fourth dimension, he would instead be travel across the fifth dimension into another timeline. Or it could be Harry Potter style time travel where his time traveling is supposed to happen. Maybe he heard stories from Vegeta about a mysterious golden haired warrior who saved him from Piccolo and he just wanted to go and see this happen and so on and so forth. And lets not forget the end all be all trump card that no ever uses, for obvious reasons, in any of the dragon ball series'. They could just use the dragon balls to wish any problems into the sun or another dimension or just remove them from existence. Obviously they would never do that in a tv show because that wouldn't be very entertaining.
