Hello Trisha, please accept my condolences. Malchut is not heaven, it means kingdom and usually refers to the earth and our material reality. You wrote "malachut", maybe you remembered the word incorrectly, could this be? There is a similar Hebrew word to this, which is malach (or, in the plural, malachim) which means angel (or angels). Can someone help please; when I started the path of the Qlipphoth i did not start at Keter but instead started elsewhere; they state that after finishing Malchut that I will then move onto Keter; can someone explain this please?

Hello, first, its not a good thing "just to start elsewhere". When you work in this way, you also "will end elsewhere". A deep spiritual work with the Tree of Life can only be done with the full understanding of the Tree. I try to explain it a bit to you and hope you will understand the complex topic. The path of the Qliphoth within the framework of the Western Mysteries and the Qabbalah is deeply symbolic and requires understanding both the Tree of Life and its shadow, the Tree of Knowledge, or the Qliphoth. Let me address your question with these principles in mind. The Qliphoth represents the shells or husks-the chaotic, shadow aspects of the Tree of Life. Instead of embodying divine emanations like the Sephiroth, the Qliphoth represents what remains when the divine light is absent or distorted. While the Sephiroth can be thought of as harmonious archetypes, the Qliphoth reflects imbalances and challenges that demand purification and integration. When one begins working with the Qliphoth, it is often advised to do so only after a thorough understanding of the Tree of Life. This preparation is critical because the Qliphothic journey is fraught with dangers-both psychological and spiritual. It is a path of confronting the shadow, integrating the fragmented aspects of the self, and ultimately moving toward wholeness. Starting with Malchut (the physical world) in the Qliphothic context makes sense because it is the realm most closely connected to material existence and the human psyche. Here, you confront the densest and most immediate shadow aspects-those tied to physical desires, survival, and egoic attachments. By resolving the challenges of Malchut, you lay the groundwork for ascending to the higher realms of the Qliphoth. Keter in the Tree of Life represents the purest divine unity and the initial emanation of creation. In the Qliphothic context, its shadow aspect represents the most refined and abstract challenges of the ego: distorted perceptions of divinity, ultimate power, and self-identity. Moving from Malchut to Keter implies a reverse journey through the spheres, symbolizing a process of spiritual "unmaking" or deconstruction of illusions as you ascend. Some traditions allow flexibility in the starting point depending on individual karma, life experiences, or specific psychological challenges. However, this flexibility must be balanced with caution, as the Qliphothic journey is not linear in the way the Tree of Life pathworking often is. Starting at a different sphere could mean confronting challenges without fully integrating the foundations, which might lead to imbalance. The progression from Malchut to Keter reflects the alchemical process of moving from the densest matter (Nigredo) to spiritual illumination (Rubedo). The completion of Malchut prepares the initiate to confront and integrate the more subtle and profound aspects of the shadow. By the time you approach Keter, you will have worked through the layers of distortion and fragmentation, emerging with the clarity to face the ultimate shadow of divine separation. The journey through the Qliphoth is a path of profound spiritual and psychological alchemy. By beginning at Malchut and progressing toward Keter, you are undertaking a symbolic ascent back to unity with the divine light, but only after facing and integrating the most profound shadows within and without.
