Had an open day today 4th June in Trinidad and the recruiter only asked Why I want to be a cabin crew to which I explained my love for customer service and my empathic nature to do unto others as I would want done to myself and those I love and how I related to the company's slogan "Taking you personally" I also look forward to the training and gaining valueable knowledge in health and safety. I was not selected. There were persons there who were already cabin crew who were not chosen. This is in Trinidad so they alone know what they looking for. Also the recruiters looked shabby and dusty so not sure what made them fit to recruit. When asked what can be improved to be recruited the next time this short hair lady with a sort of bob cut who is a recruiter said its a hidden criteria which she can't disclose. Is there such thing as a 'hidden criteria'?? Or is that a loophole for prejudice?

I received an email for a CV drop. They are doing open day at Kuala Lumpur. So I was reading the email and it says 212 minimum for arm reach. I mean.. is that even possible? You know how average Asians are and I would say I am quite tall with 160cm. But to reach 212 MINIMUM for Asian people. I really didn’t expect that requirement since they’re doing it in Kuala Lumpur. Oh and also, wish me good luck to pass the open day and the assessment day. I am finally one step away from my dream job😭

Thank you for this!! For the next video (about AD), can you please discuss stuff like the reach test and checking of scars in detail. Cause I’ve heard from a girl (she applied in Manila) who just got her DOJ, she said the reach test was increased to 213cm, and they were asked to reach with both hands at the same time. One applicant who joined the recruitment in Cebu last year said that ipams had a ring light ready for the checking of scars. Did these happen in your AD as well? Do they check your arms and legs for scars thoroughly, or do you declare scars and only then will they check?? I hope these questions will be answered. Thank you so much! x

Hi, arm reach test is 212 cm. And yes, they will ask you if you have some scars, tattoos and birthmarks so you need to declare them.

Hey I have a question. Have you ever fill the online application form before going to the open day? I read on Qatar ’s website, they said that you need to show the applicant ID at the open day, but some people said that you can show up at the open day without applicant ID. I filled the form but they rejected me, so can I show up at the open day anyway?

Hi Kath , I had few question about Qatar Airways open day interview . I am an Indian , 23 year old . Our application deadline was 8th Feb for Delhi and my application under review since the time i submitted and got the confirmation of filling the form . I had few questions firstly, in my resume I haven't mentioned about my MBA degree as I am still completing my backlogs ... and simultaneously I was appearing for Army exams too . What I wanted to know is that if if the recruiter asks me what I am doing currently what should I say ? The term flight attendant and cabin crew refers to the same position. We are usually called stewardess, air hostess, fa, cabin crew etc but it's all the same 😊

Hello , May I please request you to let me know that if I wish to appear for Qatar Airways’s recruitment event in Pune, India on 20th July 2019 can I appear for open day with just the applicant id and no invitation after the first auto reply email that had an applicant id. On the official website they have mentioned that only those who are invited for the open day can appear for the recruitment. I have not recieved any invitation but only a mail with applicant id saying that the application is being processed. The status of my application in the applicant sign-in page shows “New”. Hi Miss Kath, I want to ask... Last time I went for the open day in IPAMS then after the reach test they asked me to proceed to a conference room and had a group interview. My question is...does that mean I passed the reach test? I'm 5'2 and couldn't even reach the marker in the wall... Unfortunately, they require applicants that is 21y/o regardless of the height & grades although having high grades in English is not really necesarry as long as your fluent, but that could be an advantage tho.
