Imagine porpoising at 100 plus mph and having the balls to power through it. When it flattened out you could see it instantly accelerate. What a feeling that must have been. That rig doesn’t porpoise we may have seen 260-265.

Congratulations Hassan, I can imagine the stress from that run would have exhausted you and your team. One scary ride!! You may not remember me from a promotion in Australia I was setting up a few years ago, but "Port Stephens Boat Show" was the promotion, I had been attempting to set up a boat show 2 hours north of Sydney, but sadly, I ran short of pulling it together for a number of reasons. Not a big deal, there were a number of boat shows new to the industry around that time, so we didn't really need another show anyway. I seen other comments here regarding Ken Warby world record speed run, Ken Warby's new boat should be attempting to break the old record in with in a couple of weeks. The new boat should be running on the same date as the old record back in 78 and has twice the power of the old boat. Not sure what speed his son Dave will be aiming for, but the same support team from the airforce is helping out this time too. Ken is a lovely guy to be honest with you, he always says hello, loves to have a chat, is a wealth of knowledge. He used to be a famous Drag Car racer in Australia, had Jet powered drag cars, a jet powered truck which he told me about a couple of weeks ago. Your parachute problem reminded me of him telling me that he used to have a huge parachute was not big enough to stop him running off the end of all the drag strips here, as the truck was so heavy. If you google Warbymotorsport, you can see all his info and he has new videos on youtube of the new speed boat up recently after testing it. I have a video of his boat on my channel, but I made it private until after he has done his promotions and new speed run. Nice to see you are having success Hassan, keep up the good work, your boat is beautiful by the way.

Well, I was cruising KZbin and checked this out... And, damn, I know that guy, hmm Steve Curtis? Yes! I worked for his Dad's company, Cougar Marine in Miami Shores (?) in the late 70's, maybe early 80's? Anyway I remember Steve. He was just a punk kid back then; argue about anything, get in a fight in a blink of an eye. I was an annoying know-it-all boat carpenter -- we clashed a bit, then II got canned for talking back to the office manager. I did get a couple of rides, I don't think Steve was driving, but he might have been. We were playing with a 30 foot cat built for Cougar in the Philippines, got it out in the Intercoastal and up to close to a ton. Scared the crap out of me -- you see I race sailboats... Then there was this 60 foot aluminum beast of a cat they wanted to sell to third world navies as a coastal patrol boat. They got it in the water but it wouldn't get on a plane, it had no superstructure yet and apparently needed a little weight in the bow. Solution? Get all the workers to lay down on the bow, arms over the edge so we wouldn't slide back as it picked up speed. Again on the Intercoastal, a no wake zone as I recall, somebody back in the cockpit gunned it and we were suddenly about 30 feet in the air at a 45 degree angle, gathering speed, and wake... Before she leveled off she threw a monster wake, this on a dead calm Intercoastal, lined with private homes. I watched the wake climb the seawall and wash some guy in a lawn chair across his back yard and slam him into his porch. Bet he wasn't expecting that. If you run into Steve ask him to tell you about the escapades of he chubby intern; the time he was chased into the yard by the old lady, and his aerial experience with the overhead crane and the boat bay.

AFAIK that team has not been able to test the boat properly. I think they've gone over 200 in it but I'm not real sure they have done that.
