Thanks for the video it was well done. My question is if you create the PO then you receive items from the vendor and enter it as a bill how do you pay the billon the month end statement. We currently do not receive against the bill we only add the PO to the Bill at the end of the month and reconcile the vendors statement. I want to change to a daily receiving of items and bills but only pay the statement at the end of the month. Thanks

Hi great video, I know you said the POs do not post to any account. However, when we receive a bill against a PO does it then post to an account or only when invoiced?

You would have to convert that PO to a bill. If you go to enter the bill QB will ask if it’s for that PO

Yeah absolutely just create the invoice and put in the amounts shipped.

Great Great videos.. straight to the point. Is there a way to enter the item by description? I mean we have 25,000 sku's and we need to scroll all the way down to find what item we need, sometimes we only have a description and not a part no...., also if I have set the vendor for the particula item why does QB shows me all my inventory instead of the items pertaining to that vendor ?

Yes you certainly can do it by description. Have you already entered all item numbers and now trying to view by description? Try clicking at the top of the column for description to sort it alphabetically. On the other question, you should be able to filter a report to show the inventory by vendor

@@QbuniversityOrg I do not have that option on QB Enterprises desktop, unless something need to be activated in the setting. Or maybe I was not clear in my original post. This issues is predominately when entering a P.O. After I chose the vendor, ship to etc etc I need to pick the items to order; this is the only option i have " Picking the item" which normally is a 5 digit alphanumerical. With 25,000 sku's it get hard. But if I could sort by description would let's say enter "Pump" and would only give me the various pump models. But that option is not available.

How do I use the same P.O. number for ordering many different parts for the same job and we will adding parts and material as the project is being built? I do not want to generate a 100 different P.O.s for one job that takes many different parts . Thank you Dave

You can go back and just change the original PO

Yes you can import some list items to Desktop. Look under the File menu for Import options

Open the chart of accounts and scroll to the bottom to POs. Do a quick report on them and double click the one you want to open and change
