I totally loved this video and I give you a huge thumbs-up for making it happen. I am an ex-flight attendant for the former Pan American World Airways and we primarily flew on 747s. However, the sound of the turboprops on your video gave me a sense of "flight" that just cannot be described. It was relaxing and very peaceful to listen to as well as watch. My only regret is that the video had to end as soon as it did. Kudos to you, my friend!!

Another awesome video! Thanks! This is very nostalgic for me. I worked security at STS back in 2010 and 2011 and AS was our only carrier, 5-6 flights a day, all Q400’s. Early mornings included a search of the RON plane. I did fly them between LAX and STS in prep for moving to Santa Rosa. Those low level flights over the East Bay gave spectacular views of SFO and The City. Fond memories. 😁

Greetings, I’ve flown countless times from SEA to STS and back since the route started, though not since 2019 now. We’d have surely crossed paths, it was so much smaller back in 2010-2011, and don’t call me Shirley. My step mom tells me even since 2019 and the huge tent terminals it’s now has full fledged terminal buildings and is much larger. Having flown countless miles since I was 5 years old, now 52, I can easily say that post 9/11, STS security was the least hassle, and best experience of any airport I flew from. SMF was pretty good too, but only flew out of there once. So, thanks!

Another thoroughly enjoyable trip report. Like you, I will really miss the Dash8-Q400. I've flown them to and from six or seven of AS's smaller stations in the PNW, including EAT. The approach into Wenatchee through the Cascades is spectacular (and might seem harrowing to some). For a long time, AS/QX offered free PNW beer and wine during its bev service on flights of 30+ mins. And unlike the rear-cabin FA on your flight, QX FAs were known for their personability and friendliness. I know a lot of pax dislike the Q400's cabin noise, tight seat pitch, and lack of seat recline. I never really understood the noise complaints: Turboprops aren't actually louder - they just produce a different kind of sound that avgeeks like me just love. The Q400 also has a lot of room: Compare it to a CRJ, for example: Even a tall person can stand up in the aisle. The cabin windows are large and give pax a good view of the ground, engines, and landing gear. Does anyone notice the Q400's engine power? At take-off, the ship just seems to leap off the ground after a few seconds on the take-off roll. Another of its great features (for me, anyway), is both forward and rear boarding at many stations: I always picked a seat in row 18, which allowed a super-quick exit from the rear boarding door. Most of all, I think I'll miss the Q400's slender elegance: The airplane just has a sleek, striking profile that tells you it commands the skies.

I have been flying in these for some time since 2015, and they are ok for short hops, I got no problem for legroom as I am only 5 foot 6, so the seats are an ok fit, I have heard many complaints about the seat size if your a bigger traveller but for me its a non issue. Westjet Q400s are ok, and the service is pretty minimal, I usually go from Kelowna, BC to Vancouver, or to Calgary or to my home city, Edmonton, we usually get served water and a pack of cookies or pretzels, haha, but if Im flying near meal times I just grab a burger at McDonalds or A&W, :) Cheers!

I must admit though, I can understand the crew and passengers may feel uncomfortable about being filmed without consent...in Japanese travel videos they always blur out any person's face for privacy. Different culture, and not to sound uptight, but I worked at a restaurant where my picture was taken as part of a magazine cover, and I had no idea. I was not happy about that, for personal reasons. Perhaps if you asked those around you first if it is OK to film, that would be more respectful. Not trying to be a downer dude, just my two cents.
