TRIP REPORT | Porter Airlines - Dash 8 400 - Toronto (YTZ) to Newark (EWR) | Premium Class

Welcome to another trip report!
On January 20, I flew Porter Airlines from Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport on a Bombardier Dash 8-Q400. Porter Airlines is a regional airline headquartered in Toronto and they operate regularly scheduled flights between Toronto and locations in Canada and the United States using Q400 turboprop aircraft.

Porter looks like a nice airline. So interesting on takeoff, the propeller didn't look like it's moving very fast, or even at all. Great views of Toronto also. Nice.

Good report, very informative. I live in the NYC Metro area, and I prefer Newark, although Stewart and White Plains are more convenient (but with very limited service). Spent many times in Toronto during college and in my career days.

Such a nice airline. I flew Porter twice, MDW - YTZ and YTZ to EWR. Arrived at YTZ the day they were celebrating the 1yr anniversary of the pedestrian tunnel opening.

Porter has excellent service! I live in Toronto and have flown them a few times. There’s never a long wait or long walks around the airport (although I enjoy that), the lounge is great and the views are awesome!

I cannot recall in all my years of travel and flying around the world in over 50 years of ever getting a ferry to the airport !!! Indeed a great view....Canada is on my list when this mess is over !! I find it strange in these days of modern technology with cameras in particular when filming a prop engine in action they still struggle to keep up with the speed....just a silly observation !! Great in flight entertainment out the window !! A most excellent flight Q !! Well done as always and I hope you are safe and well during this awful time !! Thanks again mate !!

Nice video mate. I flew Porter years ago but haven't had the chance any time soon as I'm now living on the other side of the world. Your vid is clear and not dominated by talking, allowing viewers to really immerse themselves in the flying experience (with your handy subtitles too as commentary). Great stuff. Porter is awesome, I remember when they first started I'd watch their Q400s approaching over the lake when I was out walking my dog. I worked for Trans Capital Air at YTZ over a summer 4 years ago and it's crazy to see how far Porter has come, especially considering how many Canadian airlines have failed to launch or establish themselves well. I have an application in with them now- hopefully will meet their criteria for flight hours around the time hiring picks up again :)

Hi Quinten! Thanks for your videos, I'm really enjoying them! I've flown Porter twice, to Halifax and Boston...it was my first time flying and I was petrified HAHA but the service and overall experience was awesome. I'm from Toronto so it's very convenient and way less stressful than our larger main airport YYZ. I'm curious where you're from/where your home base is!

Of course every time I seem to fly into Newark I am on the wrong side of the airplane. While 22L is more common of a landing direction than 4R, I constantly end up getting 4R but being on the left side of the aircraft which gives me no such views towards the city or the ocean. Anyhow nice capture of an interesting airline and route.

Porter Airlines is definitely one of the best regional airlines in the world. I have booked another 2 round trips with them. But I don't recommend the premium class at all，it actually has little difference between the normal economy class seats and services.
