Totally agree. Most employees at investment banks, law firms, CPA firms and other private companies work 80-100 hours a week is normal. They are not entitled to OT but have bonuses. Everything is written in their employment contract. If she is executive level management, then most likely she is eligible for OT. Medical insurance should be provided by the employer and worker’s compensation is a must. I don’t understand how she ended up paying her medical expenses

@@mabelling2201 Yeah, and (not trying to blame the victim here too much) she sounded like she is financially set and doesn't need this job. She should have walk away if she has been mistreated at work. And looks like this place is at Mercer Island, Washington (Democrat state -> which generally law favors the workers). I think she will get what she wanted once she put her story in the local news there. I felt bad for her accident though.

在美國, 有 exempt and non-exempt 兩個工作 categories. Non exempt 是會有 OT 而一些管理或 professional 的工作是冇 OT. Workers compensation 在因工受傷是賠償的。希望佢可以快些好番啦。
She will be protected by the labor law. After the 1st injury, she should have asked for at least 6 week off as disability. Up to this point, she should talk to a lawyer. With all the emergency room, medical records and work hour schedule records, her case will definitely win.
She just wants to let people know and let them be aware, there are discrimination towards other Asian people who seek work in United States of America, “ Americans first “ shit 💩 like her horrible experiences

Find a lawyer immediately! Doctors can just document it as workers compensation, they cannot make the company pay. Find a reputable lawyer!

WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE CARE HOME?
@worldnotatpeace2163Ай бұрын
"Assisted Living" in Mercer Island, Washington. I'm pretty sure this nursing home is abusive towards the elders, too.
想知係邊間護老院?如果因工受傷,又有醫生證明,L&I 要 cover. 仲有 over time 一定係 1.5 或 double pay, 否則係犯法.

She needs to talk to a lawyer. There are labor laws in the US. Sue that Assisted Living facility.

I am so sorry to hear this but you have to take them to court for labor compensation and discrimination how they treated you with the unreasonable schedule, hope you will get well soon and stay safe and well ❤

是椎間盤突出, 美國勞工保險普遍應該好好的,work related injury 嘅手術冇乜可能唔包, 復康也包, 藥物有brand好多時都唔包, 用generic通常都包. 似係employer唔好, not really 係美國勞保問題.
Please keep in mind that the statute of limitations applies…for workers compensation claims in the state of Washington…I believe it’s one year from the date of the accident.
@art0925Ай бұрын
That's why most cases that I've dealth with the injuried party will find a lawyer ASAP. And L&I claim manager usually will not denied imaging or specialist request and pay by the state.

You should consider finding a good attorney who works on contingency fees basis.

She needs a lawyer to file sue on that retirement home.
Quick recovery, Suki. Hire a good lawyer, and he will help you to claim what you need. Sue that nursing home for unsafe working environments. Good luck.
佢係度亂講 佢係Washington state 根本就無例假 Washington State does not require employers to provide leave or pay for holidays, vacations, or bereavement. These benefits can be found in your employer policies or collective bargaining agreement. They are generally an agreement between an employer and employee. L&I does not enforce these agreements.
