In his timeline,Lelouch uses Geass to control him and force him to kill Euphemia. I don't think he's a bad guy, he's just desperate.

It's black knight Suzaku, who was enslaved by Lelouch and was forced to do things he didn't wanna do. Also in his timeline almost all of the characters died including Nunnally, which why he was flabbergasted by the fact that Nunnally is alive and in front of him. Both him and Lelouch got crazy cuz of death of Nunnally and Euphy.
