Antimony also forms the strongest acid known so far: hydrofluoroantimonic acid, HSbF6. It decomposes in aqueous solution so it must be stored as concentrate or in hydrofluoric acid, HF. It's 20 quintillion times stronger than concentrated sulfuric acid and has the lowest known pH in the world. At temperatures as low as 40*C it decomposes back to HF and releases this is a gas, which is obviously very harmful as it's an acid, but HSbF6 can be used in chemical engineering because it can remove hydrogens and instantly protonate a compound regardless of the solvent used. Neat shit.
@dyent5 жыл бұрын
Not quite! There's a class of acids called Carborane Acids, and most acids within that group are stronger. Including the strongest acid ever to be synthesized, H(CHB11F11) and some theoretical ones which have a predicted PKa of -46
@diablofrag21775 жыл бұрын
Jyt apologies but you are incorrect. Carborane is considered the worlds strongest SOLO acid, with a pH of around -18. However hydrofluoroantimonic acid is still much stronger, but it is made of hydrofluoric acid and antimony pentafluoride, which has a pH in the -40s. In fact carborane is so non corrosive that it an be handled with the bare skin.

@@simransimran9339 seems like a tall order. I get that it can and does happen. But I wonder how many men would push for it, it they had any other option. I mean, I guess it makes sense if your job is supporting your wife so she can earn the money. In that case, you may have no skills or work history. It's kind of like how there's a lot of people who would benefit from government assistance, but either have too much pride or no understanding of how to get it.
@simransimran93395 жыл бұрын
@@-8_8- well, all divorce law is like that (in my country). Basically, in my country the divorces are very often granted on the basis of fault (adultery, desertion, cruelty, etc). So if the person at fault earns more they have to pay money to the party who earns less. It's not compensation exactly. It's more about the fact that a person should be able to have the same standard of living during marriage when the rupture of the marriage isn't their fault (at least till they marry someone else or don't need alimony it anymore). Now of the person at fault is the one earning less then the court orders a "reasonable" amount of alimony. Just enough to keep people afloat till they can get manage on their own. Also, alimony isn't for life. It's only till the person actually needs it.
