rogue wave: my mostly uneducated guess has to do with fluid dynamics and wave frequencies, and the weather, temps, and currents all have a part to play in creating these waves. sort of when multiple waves pile over each other, compiling their height and power. not random, but rare enough that it would feel random, because of how many different factors would play into it.
@Tasarran Жыл бұрын
Was just going to post almost the same thing. Waves add up; if you have enough waves bouncing around for enough time, you're going to have some freak points where all the factors align perfectly. It's sort of like evolution, enough random mutation over a long enough time, and you're occasionally going to roll all sixes...

Minute 35: Sandi says that books "cannot be eaten". If this were true there would be no need to put bats in the library. She goes on to stress "these books cannot be eaten" - same thing. The implication is that they cannot be eaten by a human, and for reasons of respect rather than physical impossibility. It's no different to a person claiming they cannot murder another human - it's for philosophical reasons they cannot, not practical reasons.
@shermoore1693 Жыл бұрын
@@vink6163 It is obvious that it is highly unlikely that humans would eat books, especially if they are in a library, but that is not what Sandi said. She said "these books cannot be eaten". Unless you know a form of English that I don't, this means that it is not possible to eat the books. CAN is a modal verb which means: Is Able To. Which is why the future is Will Not Be Able To.
