I am excited for this. I don’t need another smart cube as I have the Rubik’s connected, icarry s, Gan i3, and my favorite the Gan 12ui, I gave away the MG AI. I have a slight addiction to smart cubes and cubes in general. I suffer from FOMO, and as a result I will buy this cube too, lol.

I just received mine today and done a quick unboxing. I like it but I tend to overshoot my turning on it a bit. I might need to change those springs. I would prefer stronger magnets which would help me but in general it turns well, no other problems with it unlike the gan iCarry's when they first came out. It's not as good as the Gan 12 ui but it a lot cheaper and I think it is better than the iCarry cubes. The app seems to work without any glitches or bugs that other cube apps had when they were released so it's a thumbs up from me. Hope they continue to develop the cube and app in the future. 👍

Is there any detailed info on hardware design? Are they using basic contact rotary encoders like in iCarry/S, or contactless Hall-effect sensors like in iCarry2 and 12ui?

@@Artificialkind Yep, that's known already, QiYi start sharing technical details about technology used. The Hall-effect adds not a crucial difference in power consumption. Even iCarry 2 can long last for 800 hours on single battery. But contact rotary encoders has way more friction, and this significantly affects turning feel. Also they way less reliable and picky about lubricant that can be used.

Cube company should be making waterproof smart cube, so you can put lube in it

You 100% can get it lube in it. Actually all of the major smart cubes you can lubricate. Most cube lube is also silicone based so even if it wasn't completely sealed it is safe. I actually add lube in this video to it.

Nope. And it is clear for now they will be very difficult to reverse engineer. So don't expect that support in 3rd party software will come in near future.

Maybe take into consideration to give a little more technical detail next time or in another video. I wonder if the cubes are mangetised at all, got corner/edge/core magnetization or something else. Is the regular one of these two exactly build like the m pro? Cause I tried to like it but magnets were almost unrecognizable on my pro. Anyways thanks for your content 😊

Got the “A” version ordered, should be arriving tomorrow. Been a while since I practiced regularly but still love seeing how each company interprets the design of the cube, looking forward to seeing how this one goes! Decided to treat myself yesterday for my 50th and picked up a GoCube edge again, that was my first Bluetooth smart cube a few years back, at least they have updated the internals since the first version with a tiny reset button under the red centre cap in case things go a bit pear shaped 🫠
